This has already been discussed in detail in this thread. Apparently he's been asked (though he didn't confirm whether or not he would be doing Strictly) and she hasn't been asked and supposedly doesn't want to do it.

I guess all they need now is Lee Ryan and Jasmine Waltz and then perhaps Katie Price & her latest husband and then they're on their way to the perfect rumoured line up

I personally do think it's a load of PR fluff - I mean LOL at Mark being described as a 'big star'. It also contradicts what Mark was quoted as saying a few weeks ago that Michelle hadn't been approached.

As if Michelle would turn down an opportunity like this, its not like she'll have Hollywood knocking down her door anytime soon.

I think it depends on what offers she gets after she leaves Corrie - this is the latest - not sure how reliable it is but her PR seems to have ruled her out. Sorry for the Daily Heil link

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...e-Dancing.html

I can see Mark being desperate to do it but not Michelle - even if she doesn't get any decent acting offers I think other 'reality' shows like 'IAC' would take an interest her.

I doubt the BBC would be that desperate for "celebs" that they have to choose from ZZ-listers

What the same BBC that chose Richard Arnold.... the erm show biz correspondent from GMTV and those mainly known for their famous connections such as Penny Lancaster, Nancy Dell'olio, Jo Wood and Abbey Clancey.

Strictly can be just as bad in plumbing the depths and stretching the word of 'celebrity' as the other 'reality' shows.

Mark and Michelle wouldn't be too bad. Mark actually comes over as a very nice man and he is very good looking so it's a yes from me

I doubt they'd both get signed up together but if they did it would turn strictly into the Mark and Michelle show which imo could be a ghastly prospect and I suspect would be a precursor to an ITV reality show featuring them both - there would be too much hype around them as they've both got high profiles in the tabloids.

At a push I wouldn't mind Michelle on the show (that is if she wants to do it) because although I'm not keen on how she stays in the limelight these days, she did originally come to the public eye through imo a respectable route of training to be an actress, auditioning for parts and then getting her big break in Corrie.

Mark imo is someone who just got lucky and gained fame through the cheap route of ITV dross 'reality tv'........yeah he might be a nice enough person but I don't particularly want to see him or his ilk on strictly...to me it's already bad enough they invite WAGS on. As for him being good looking - he seems rather vain to me and that's never a good look......I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder though.

I hope not - as far as I'm aware, Strictly is the only celeb-based tv show that hasn't started recruiting from the scripted reality genre. That said, I was surprised that they picked Abi Clancy and she obviously turned out to be very popular, so it might not be so unrealistic for them to recruit a TOWIE type!

Mark Wright isn on TOWIE now anyway, he's just famous for being famous now, and being the future husband of Michelle Keegan

I'd personally dispute whether Abbey was that popular - she only won two dates on the tour and yes I know other past winners who've done the tour and haven't done so well on it either but it just seems so strange that someone with the amount of hype around her that she had did so poorly on the tour. Obviously she had a certain degree of popularity to win the tv series but she was downright lucky to have been put in a line up where they obviously wanted a female winner so no male competition and where her main female competition Natalie was continually villified in the press and social media making it virtually impossible for her win. I know Susanna and Sohpie both had a certain degree of popularity too, but they weren't given anywhere near as easy a time as Abbey was by the judges and were contiunally picked up on faults that Abbey was overlooked on. To me they could have put any young, attractive female, bubbly contestant with a bit of dance ability in that line up - overmarked them and given them a flattering story line as Abbey was and it would have been relatively easy for that person to sail to victory.

The show imo dumbed down, and for me went downhill when they decided to champion someone like Abbey as the winner - so even though I don't want it I guess I'm prepared for it now if they do pick a TOWIE type contestant but I doubt if they'd pick someone whose just famous for TOWIE type reality tv - I think they'd want them to have a famous connection too like Abbey .

Well not that I watch it but I think I read somewhere that he's returned to TOWIE - he also does a bit of other tv and radio stuff......still don't want him on the show...I think it's scraping the barrel.

Just read Joey Essex wants to do Strictly....much as I'm fond of the duffer, watched his latest 'reality' show last night--'Educating Joey Essex'--and realised he's not bright-but-ignorant, but seems a non-listening dense short-attention-span person. I cannot now even IMAGINE him applying himself with the concentration & dedication & repetition & sheer hard work necessary to learn even ONE 90sec routine, alas, as he'd look fab in the costumes. Hey ho.

Every z-list wannabe 's PR agent will be putting out Press releases from now until July.

So & so wants to do Strictly / So & so has Turned down Strictly.

And don't forget Cowell is back in the UK having slunk back to UK X-Factor with his tail between his legs (or hooves in this particular Prince of Darkness's case), so every former BGT and X-factor nobody signed up to his evil minions, will have press releases out claiming to have turned down Strictly.

Ho hummmmmmm

I would not put anything past the producers anymore, they surprise us every year with something so.....

Just a couple of suggestions - what about Christina Trevanion and Catherine Southon from those antiques programmes? Maybe they are not show-business types, but better than some of the suggestions on here!

As I've rarely heard of more than a few of the 'celebs' on the show each year, I'm not too fussed whether they choose real 'stars' or not. I just want to see people who will be entertaining to watch, and at least try and make some effort to dance.
