Why does Jason Hate SportsWomen??
In regards to his terrible treatment of Beth over the last two years, this isn't the first time Jason has acting so terribly. In the past, Kelly Holmes, Sharron Davies and now Beth have all faced his caustic acid tongue but why is it that it always seems to be the sportswomen that he hones in on?

Maybe he was bullied by sporty types at school, or far more likely he's just jealous.

Or far more likely, it's because they simply aren't as graceful on the ice or able to do well in the performance side of things - which is Jason's area of expertise and what he's judging on. When you look at the sports people who have taken part, only two have won (Kyran and Beth). Most have struggled, simply because they aren't actors and don't have the musicality that's needed. Beth, because her sport does involve movement to music and an element of grace, is better equipped, but she still struggles with the performance side.
I actually think that people need to ignore the judges and simply vote based on what they see, not what the judges say. Essentially the judges are pantomime. There is always a 'villain' on TV talent show judging panels Jason (DOI), Simon Cowell (X-Factor/BGT), Craig Revel-Horwood (Strictly), Zoe Tyler (BBC Casting Shows)...etc. They're playing a role. |

People who want Beth to win should be loving Jason...they must realise that he is at least one of the factors why she has never been in the dance-off. If he and the other judges have any sense they will tell Beth she is wonderful and give her 10's on Sunday. |

I don't think he hates them. It seems that his criticism is to try and help them bring our their performance skills. Technically Beth is very good but when compared to the other celebs her performance isn't as strong.

Sorry but Jason's expertise shouldn't lead him to describe someone as looking like a man in drag or comparing them to faecal matter and that's before we start with the rudeness to Beth. Sportspeople have done very well on Strictly. Gough, Ramps and Louis Smith winning, Denise Lewis, Matt Dawson and Colin Jackdon making the final and others like Jade doing well so why iid DOI any different? Jason's comments are for himself and his own profile, I find it hard to accept that they are ever designed to make someone better. |

Jason though doesn't really serve much purpose. He can tell you your dance moves need refinement, but they might as well ask the carpark attendant whether a routine has wow factor, difficulty, skating skill, or connects to the audience. His views on performance always reflect the quality of the routine, story and dance content , and he ends up rewarding the trained dancers and actors who look most like it, in the routine that fits them best, and doesn't involve much difficulty. |

One of the surprising issues with DOI is that they don't provide a level playing field - or work on weaker areas as much as SCD does. On SCD someone as skilled as Ola Jordan can take Chris Hollins to a win by emphasising what he can do , and avoiding what he cannot.. On DOI, you get dull routines if you are not seen as a contender, difficulty if you can do it, and routines right in your comfort zone if you are good at dancing and not difficulty. On Strictly, Beth would have been sent off to the acting coaches to boost her acting skills - which on Strictly often proves very successful. |
