New Music - how important is it to you?
i write a blog http://feetupeyesclosed.wordpress.com/ and it focusses on new music from indie, electro and chill out genre. How do you guys access new music? do you go searching for it? do you go to youtube? any ideas that can help an aspiring blogger? any help would be much appreciated peeps

Last FM (I'm a subscriber) and Bandcamp for me. Nothing beats the thrill of discovering new music especially when that music is outside your normal comfort zone.

For me it's Spotify, magazines, I subscribe to both Classic Rock and Prog, and friends' recommendations.

I agree about Spotify, what ever algorithm it uses, it makes unexpected links and springs surprises. I also like The Wire music mag.
I listened to some of the blog music. Some of the music is nice enough, not as dark as I thought but a lot of melancholy music with haunting synths. I listen to a lot of music like that and the vast majority of it will simply melt away into nothing. |

thanks for listening - do you think i can go darker? lol. i dont use spotify but will defo give it a try and see what it comes up with. i actually read quite a lot of blogs and have come across some really good stuff from there.
when you mean melt away into nothing do you mean chart success etc? |
