Will the USA accept James Arthur's music?
I actually think its Soul/Blues esque music will be more suited to US Audiences,
and with rumours that Get Down is to be his US Debut Single, he could do very well. Live Performance of GET DOWN https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VZZ...eOVZnAnjBiGhKA Thoughts ?? |

Well, X Factor artists tend to excel in the states presumably because they haven't endured all the media controversy from when they were on the show. Think of Cher Lloyd: She's not exactly flourishing in the states, but that's where her fan-base is, and likely because American audiences did not have to endure weeks of her diva and bratty attitude splashed across the papers.
James Arthur could follow suit, however I think his attitude problem will get in the way again. The man doesn't know how to take criticism. If he's given media training this time (he admitted he rejected the post X Factor media training offered to winners), he may be fine but so far he doesn't seem like he has what it takes. At least emotionally. |

I really don't think he'll appeal to America....
He's too english and too unattractive to appeal to them I think, plus I doubt they'll understand what he's saying.... |

Cher Lloyd always had 'American appeal', though. James, doesn't. Everything about him is extremely British!

Well he'll certainly appeal to the south with his 1950's views on sexuality.

As long as he shuts his mouth, he might have a tiny tiny chance, but I highly doubt radio is going to play his songs much as his voice is not appealing at all

I read an article with Simon cowell earlier in which he was critical of James Arthur. Its curtains for him basically.
Of course he'll blame everyone else. If you're gonna go through the Simon Cowell sausage machine you'd better act like a sausage. |

None of the X Factor artists have excelled in the states apart from One Direction. Leona, Cher, Olly have all been One Hit Wonders. Little Mix are doing OK. Nothing on the 1D scale though.
1D have only had one big hit with What Makes You Beautiful which only peaked at 4, IIRC. |
