New DTR-T1010/2TB
Humax are offering a new box DTR-T1010/2TB.
Has anyone tested one ? Since I have a perfectly functioning, seven years old, Humax HDR, with a 1.5 Tb drive, my only incentive to change, is the potential fallibility of an old machine. There must be many people in a similar position, that might need to change, quickly. Is there a trustworthy summary of the new 1000 series, versus the original. Yes, I know I could read a few dozen threads with hundreds of posts, but life is getting shorter ! ![]() David Last edited by SWIZZ? : 07-03-2014 at 17:57. Reason: Omitted a word |

Also has a very clever IOS/Android app that allows you to instantly transfer Youtube content from your mobile device to playback from the freetime box. Somewhat better pictures than the Foxsat Full buffer recording capability. DLNA client capability to stream content from your network (no server though as you get on a Foxsat running the Custom Firmware) USB playback without having to use AV2HDR to create support files for supported formats cons Compared to the Foxsat (especially one with the Webif interface Custom firmware addon) is no way to archive/export recordings. Hard to think of everything. any questions will try and help. My Foxsat (1TB drive fitted late 2008 still works great as well). |

The new box is a Youview terrestrial box (yuck) and identical to the earlier boxes apart from hard disk recording space.

I'd not spotted "terrestrial" My 900kbps internet is a nuisance when watching catchup, so I suppose buffering would dodge that. I rarely watch repeats (except Dad's Army so I can keep firmly grounded in reality) so transferring files would be a luxury, though I'm still tempted to fit the new firmware. Interesting that you mentioned a better picture, I'm generally impressed by the HDR & by Humax. You've left me with no fears should I have to suddenly buy a new box. Thanks again. David |
