Digisender pv2tv showing 2 screens on my tv
phonefax

I have recently purchased this item,, installation was fine,, my Browser is Firefox and my laptop is a dell 5010.

I am not very technically minded so please excuse my ignorance.

I have installed this item into my Panasonic HD tv but I have one full screen from my laptop showing and half a screen. I have right clicked on my laptop and bought up the window that shows 2 seprate screens 1-2.
I have tried every adjustment without success and as a result still have one and a half screens showing on my tv,,, appreciate any suggestions thank you

Well googling "Digisender pv2tv" only brings up this thread, so I presume you have the name wrong?

But I assume it's some device to show your computer screen on your TV wirelessly?

What do you mean by one and a half screens on your TV?
Do you mean it's showing your laptop desktop full screen plus something else in a window 'picture in picture' style?

If your computer just treats it as having a second monitor installed, then you should be able to choose whether to clone the display (i.e. have the same picture on laptop and TV), or extend the display, which allows you to have different things on both screens.

Extend the display is usually the default setting, as clone only works properly if the screen resolutions are the same,

The name of the item is, Digisender imedia Smart Sender.
When I say one and a half screens I meant one full laptop screen and half a laptop screen.
There is no clone option on resoution settings.
I have the resolution settings on extend,, I think the resolution settings on the Digisender may need changing but I can find the blessed thing.
I am of mature years and trying my very best to sort it myself but not succeeding.
thank you

Do you see one and a half of everything or are you just seeing one and a half background images?

In other words if you open a web browser (for example) do you see one or one and a half windows, with the same thing appearing in both?

If you only see one browser window then nothing is wrong. All that has happened is the background image is set to tile, ie repeat over and over again like bathroom tiles to fill the display. In this instance it only appears once on the laptop but the TV screen is higher resolution so it appears the extra half a time.

If however you see one and a half browser windows then that suggests a fault.

If you right click on the desktop and select Properties you will open the Display properties box. Find the tab with both screens showing. Click on screen 2 which is likely to be the TV and you can change the resolution of the TV display. Provided that is you have ticked the "Extend Desktop" box. (unticked is Clone mode).

If you are using a Full HD TV try 1920x1080 otherwise try 1366x768.

Yes but is that everything you see on the laptop screen or just the background image? The distinction is important.

If you see every single program window that you open one and a half times on the TV then that indicate something odd is going on. But if you just see one and a half background images but only a single program window (no half copy) then that is a normal operating mode of Windows.
