With the Tory Party floating more and more ideas for destroying the BBC's income, on almost a daily basis, I would suspect it's becoming increasingly likely the Corporation will have difficulty in keeping Doctor Who on air in any significant form past 2017. .In all seriousness though, with doctor who being the bbc's flagship family drama, I think it would be one of the last things to go. Could easily see it's budget being cut, or more half series per year situations arising, but cutting it completely at a time when it is so popular would be the bbc putting a nail in it's own coffin.

Sometimes it seems that leftists claim the show just for themselves. Don't use Doctor Who for your socialist campaign. The only thing that can save the show until 2017. and later is staying away from politics. Not all fans are leftists. This will only alienate fans and ruin the show.

There's no point whatsoever voting for the Lib Dems. They won't win the next General Election. But Labour has a chance, and so do the Tories.
I'd vote for Labour, as DW has a much better chance of staying on the BBC for years. I hate the Tories and do not like being in a Tory regime.

That doesn't make my top thousand reasons why I won't, and never will, vote for the Tories. Actually, number one one the list ( consider myself a reasonably decent human being) is more than sufficient....
As much as I love the show I love the country more, and it is for that reason that I wouldn't vote labour even if their number on election pledge was to promise three series of doctor who per year. Not that the others offer anything particularly spectular either mind

I'd never vote Tory if I could help it. Just look at how the UK was during the 1980s. Some good moments having Thatcher in charge, but most of the time, not so good. The miners strike, Falklands war, The IRA bombing a Brighton hotel, the start of the Gulf conflict around 1988/89, and so on.
Things weren't much better when John Major was PM. We had a recession in the early 90s, and the country was basically a mess.
I tell you, it was relief when Tony Blair came into power in '97.
