I'd like to get a portable, stand-alone internet radio and would appreciate some advice and comments. At present, I'm using an iPad with the 'Tunein' app: this is excellent but I want something with better volume, longer battery life and a mains connection. As I say, it needs to be stand-alone and not something that has to plug into the 'aux' socket of a sound system

Is there something with a visual display like the 'Tunein' app? It's nice to see the cover of the album that's being played. Also the other 'Tunein' features, such as favourites and so on?

For the bathroom I use thr Roberts solar panel one & my iphone with a 3.5 to 3.5 mm jack

Is it possible to record music and podcasts from the Roberts to an iPod?

Apple have a free podcast app on their app store. iPods cannot record from an analogue source such as a headphone socket. You would need to use a computer with an analogue input and a programme such as Audacity to get the music into iTunes and then transfer it. A somewhat involved process.
