We have a smart Panasonic (Viera) TV, which is excellent. However, although it has BBC iPlayer, there’s no ITV Player; the same goes for C4. Is it likely that these extras will be made available via software downloads in the near future?

Simple answer is No. They are all tied up to Samsung apart from BBC and CH5

Panasonic apps are poor in number compared to LG, Sony and Especially samsung. I believe panasonic doesn't even have amazon lovefilm ?

I was told by a retailer recently that the Samsung 'monopoly' of ITV Player is time limited but I have seen no references as to when this deal ends.

You may want to get a Now TV box to keep you going in the meantime. It also lacks the ITV Player, but I would place a bet that it will arrive before it does on your TV.

You will also get 4oD and Demand 5, and all for £10.

Thanks for the replies ... I had assumed that the ITV Player would be added quite soon. It's a pity. Thanks also for the tip regarding the Now box.
