Why should she be grateful? She made the final 3 on merit.
Who said she was embarrassed?
She didn't choreograph her own routine.
Hayley can't skate - Beth had nothing to prove when it came to skating - she's been doing it all series.
Funny how Robin and others suddenly found perfection in Beth after the rollicking from Chris last week.
She may be a skater. ...but her performance let her down....Jason told her often enough. ...and we know all those 10s wasn't going to count towards her final marks....so they went ahead and gave them to her anyway.....for the wrong performance imho!!! |

She made the final 3 cos voters thought she had been hard done by and felt sorry for her....merit alone, she should have won.....she couldnt even come runner up!!!

We're told Hayley had the Emmerdale and Corrie vote. Is that any more to do with dancing on ice than an alleged sympathy vote? As a skater Beth leaves her standing (literally) Claire Buckfield was a better skater and good performer, Bonnie Langford could outperform her any time and all three had the lifts and tricks that Hayley couldn't even dream about. Hayley didn't win - that's what I call justice. |

You know nothing of the sort - unless you've conducted a survey asking every voter why they voted in her favour. I voted for her and Ray every week because I thought - and still think - they were the best competitors. Jazz hands and cheesy grins don't cut it when they're used to disguise poor skating skills.

No survey required for that, as most of DS fms thought she was the best thing since slice bread and ensured the votes stated as such.....epic fail!!! Glad Hayley beat her though. ..far more interesting to watch...and topping the vote says it all really! !! |

Sure does - says that Emmerdale and Corrie viewers have the strength to swing the vote.

So let's not pretend she made the final two on ability.
Ability doesn't always win shows.....xfactor votes are a clear example of that....you've got to be interesting to watch too.....bet Beth wished her performance was exactly that......plus starring in a soap opera herself now!!! |

It never even crossed my mind that the judges should be thanked.

I think they should have given Beth more routines that showcased her technical prowess, to get her to do things like death spirals and arabesques, rather than performance routines.

I didn't notice but now my attention has been drawn to it why should she. They have heaped the most praise on people who do cheesy grins and jazz hands. She had great ability and even when she put more into her performance she was continually told she wasn't giving enough. I'm so glad Chris spoke up the other week and said she should have got 10's. You were the real winner to me Beth.

Your opinion, many would disagree. ...she topped the vote most weeks...FACT!!! Cant erase that detail coming to light today....how much you try

Couldn't be the former - must have been the latter - though to be fair the soap vote hasn't always carried a contestant through to the final so there must have been something else; Ah yes - jazz hands, cheesy grin, Dan's wink and the lifelong Hayley/Dan friendship. Hang on - where does dancing on ice come into this? |

Contradicting yourself - did she win on ability or on the strength of the soap opera vote.

I don't think it was one or the other.... and I don't think her popularity is related to her being in a soap, the way some people do. Joining Coronation Street is too recent and her time in Emmerdale has long gone. I think people just liked her character, what they saw of her and her performances. Perhaps not rating her as having the best ability out there compared to some others, but voted her all the same because they enjoyed watching her the most (and perhaps disliked others with better ability). When celebs are on reality series, most people feel they've got to know them better than when they knew them as actors, singers, whatever. Either they warm to you more, or can be disappointed. I think Hayleys fans just warmed to her as a person and a performer, I doubt Coronation St or Emmerdale came into it.
Well said. ...I enjoyed watching Hayley from her winning series before the casting in Corrie......others did too......she didnt come over cocky or cheeky and just enjoyed the experience of being there. ...what was wrong with that??? She even thanked all who gave her the opportunity of being there. ..including the judges who were critical of her skating skills....which she was aware was her low point Beth could learn a lesson from this and take criticism on the chin and build on this...dissing the judges will be looked at as being hard done by....the judges are doing their job the best way they knew how....beth had her faults too, let's not forget that! !! |

She was actually the perfect example of how to take criticism - always listened to the judges and always said she would take their advice on board. I know you love Hayley and dislike Beth but criticising the latter for something that simply wasn't there does nothing to support your dismissal of Beth - quite the contrary. |
