Hello everyone

I have recently set up a new dog walking business in my area and would just like some opinions on what you think of it.

It explains everything I have to offer at this present time. I would really appreciate it if people would check it out. I would love to hear some opinions or advice from anyone. Criticism is welcome too. There is a facebook like option on comp page but that's up to you if you do it or not. Does the site feel welcoming and informative?

I've read all of your website and think you've done an excellent job. Its bright and colourful without being overdone, and has just the right amount of pictures and writing, to be readable and enticing. The amount you've put is enough to put everything you want across in short points that people can read quickly and easily, and your colour scheme is nice and easy on the eye (take note DS), and it's very straightforward to navigate around. The only thing I would suggest adding is mentioning if you will walk someone's dog/s alone if the dog doesn't get on with others, perhaps at a slightly higher price because its an extra requirement, and means you have to make extra time and work to accommodate that dog. Apart from that, IMO you've a job well done, and good luck with your business.

I think you have done a great job.

There were two points I thought I would mention. I would say is that I think that the location of Market Rason should be more prominent. If someone was googling for a dog walker they could pass straight over it if they can't see the location immediately. The other point is the photographs on the home page. They are actually really gorgeous photos, but they don't scream "dog walking". If you could find some similarly cute photos but in an outdoor environment maybe. I wouldn't change them unless you can find something equally cute though as those dogs look really lovely.

I also had a look and like your site very much. I think its good that you walk more dogs of the same clients at the same time (they are probably used to it), and I also think your prices are ok.

I have a dog walker as a neighbour, and we see her walking the different types dog she has as clients all the time. She has her regular clients (where I live mostly older people), and we know she loves dogs and does a good job.


There are so many people owning dogs, maybe working who love their dog to have another walk lunch time. I think this really helps people.

Nice site. Looks professional. The overall feel is quite friendly and I think adding to that feel by putting the names of the dogs on your photos would be quite nice.

Op, one note - are you insured? When I was looking for dog walkers I struggled to find one with insure, which is an essential for me (and presumably legally?)

What happens if you lose a dog, the dogs get into a fight and need veterinary treatment, they attack someone?

Insurance is a must.

I do agree with soulou's point about displaying your location more prominently:

Have you considered adding a service of a feed, water change for additional charge, or a 15 minute service consisting of feed, toilet break and short walk or just a bit of companionship for elderly or ill dogs who can't walk far?

Love it except the first thing that caught my eye 'was 'Dedicated to value and reward customers'. It doesn't read right. Maybe because 'value' and 'reward' can be read as either either nouns or verbs.
Should it be 'dedicated to valuing and rewarding customers' ? If that's what you mean. Because it isn't clear. Do you mean value as in a value service or as in valuing customers? (which however sounds a bit naff). But 'rewarding' isn't quite right as it might sound as if you are looking for 'rewarding customers'.

Don't mind me. My boss once gave me the draft company magazine to read and I ended up going through it with a red pen.
Mostly her submissions as it turned out.

Me I would put something like 'A quality service with rewards for customers'

I would make the info about insurance a little bolder or highlight it as it took a while for me to spot it and I note someone else experienced the same.

Love the pics and the competition element. Though as its specifically a dog walking service maybe an outdoors 'action photo' on the home page would be better. Ideally with you in it (then we can all have an ogle).

I've looked at a local dog walking website (almost identical name!) . I think your home page is better but the owner not only has a pic but a little intro about herself (incl first name) which is a nice touch.

Finally under 'Services I offer' I wouldn't repeat the bit about services but put something like - at XXX our priority is to.... And I would scrap the bit about doggy accidents as I don't think it's necessary. Maybe it's just me but if I was booking a dog walker the last thing I would ask about was what they did with any poo.

I think this is absolutely wonderful and would definitely use your service if it were local!

Locality is all of course.

I have used a local dog walker for three years - two or three times a week. I picked up a flyer from my vet and rang her on spec - and how glad I am I did.

The real customer service is at the doorstep - that personal contact. My dog goes mad as soon as my walker's van gets into my drive - and comes home several hours later skipping with delight. In the meantime, I have got to know her and her family personally over the last few years and feel perfectly confident to have her look after my dog if I am away over night.

I think you are doing everything right - and only need to build up as much personal goodwill and contact as possible.

I think dog walking offers a wonderful service for those who are / have become elderly or infirm if they are able to afford it , or as someone else said - working people who enjoy walking their dogs (otherwise, why have one?) but would appreciate an extra walk for their much-loved pets.

I wish you the very best in launching your new business and building up a regular clientele.

Although I enjoy taking dogs out for a walk, the thought of doing so for hours each day, in all kinds of weather, is a daunting one so thank goodness there are people like you who actively enjoy it!

I would use your services like a shot. I am desperate to find a great dog walker. I did have one who I used but one day I was still at home when she arrived and she saw my car and just drove off. Told me she just presumed I did not need her as i was at home.

Very nice site, but just to add a tiny bit more pickiness:

In "About the company" where it says "At Paws for Walk its vital..." it should be "it's".

So many people put in an apostrophe when it shouldn't be there, but here it's needed
