One thing that puzzles me, why is she still using her married name now she is divorced? A simple change of name stat dec costing 100 could revert her back to Tweedy. Mmmm.

Have the ratings really dropped a lot?
I've heard it said a couple of times today, but is this true?
They've dropped a fair bit over the last two years - though last year was actually slightly up on 2012 - but it still pulls in better audience figures than anything bar the big soaps, BGT and Strictly.

It's probably still safe for a few more years if for no other reason than the fact that whatever ITV replaced it with would probably bring in even fewer viewers.

The blow quote says very different indeed.
What is a 'blow quote'?

Her "music" actually did OK without X Factor and her lowest charting single was released whilst she was still a judge, and Call My Name, released over a year after leaving, is her second best selling single. X Factor isn't as good for the judges careers as people seem to think. Ask Kelly Rowland, Gary and Tulisa.

Its about album sales though.

Her first album sold a million

Her second sold about half a million

Her third sans X Factor just scraped 100k

Album sales were extremely poor in general around the time of her third album. Her first two albums were also released in October, her third in June.

Even though I missed out a letter, that quote from you still says very different.

Are you one of those Cole fans who can't cope with the idea that not everyone thinks she's fascinating, and therefore feels the need to pick arguments for the sake of it?

It seems so if you're confused about my earlier comments.

I do not understand either. She has been divorced from her husband for years, so why still use his name? It is odd.

Just pointing out that what I quoted wasn't a post from someone that was bored with her, but instead, was angry with her. You can dislike her if you want to, that's your choice.

Probably because she thinks she will become more anonymous without his name?

Oh good, another reason not to watch x factor. Not that I needed it!

I wouldn't go back to tweedy either - reminds me too much of Chicken Run film.

They really should have just given it a year off, to pique interest next year.

I can't believe x factor mania is starting already and its only March. This is it now until Christmas. Cheryl this and Cheryl that. This is a woman who had to tattoo her entire arse for attention.

The Xfactor has had it's day as has Cowell . The show is now the same boring formula year after year . America showed they are bored of Cowell and all his bag of tricks .

I like Cheryl and will probably watch the first show but Cheryl is not going to save his show this time .

Shallow observation alert - blonde hair looks heinous on her; she looks much better with darker hair.

Probably because the name Tweedy instantly brings to mind her chavness and the beating incident with the toilet attendant - I always, without fail, think of that poor woman's battered face when I see Cheryl Cole.

I agree with you.

I'm indifferent to Cheryl so I'm not bothered one way or the other about her return. I was just surprised that she agreed to go back after the way Cowell treated her in America.

X Factor has become boring and IMO a farce over the past couple of years....I don't think the return of Cheryl will make it any better.

Do me a favour and stop telling me what I think. It borders on baiting.

I've already clearly said I couldn't care less about her one way or the other but I understand why people who like the X-Factor and would prefer to see someone with talent and a credible music background on the panel might find her return and the fuss that will be made over it deeply irritating.

Accept the fact that for some of us she's an irrevelance. As is X-Factor.

Well the post I quoted from your on the previous page says different. Anyway, I can't be bothered arguing with you over this. Just thought I'd point out something.

I do think the return of Cheryl will boost the ratings. The return of Cheryl needs to be advertised quite a bit so that a lot of X Factor viewers and previous viewers get to see that she's returning to the show. When they advertise the return of the X Factor, they need to have Cheryl in that advert. I think they will anyway. They need to let as many current as ex-viewers of the show as possible see that she's returning to the show.

Lots of people don't change their names back. My auntie still has her married name nearly 10 years after getting divorced. I know if I had to choose between Tweedy and Cole, I'd definitely be choosing Cole

Really? Every time you see Cheryl you see the bruised face of a stranger who got punched ten years ago?

Most people won't give a shit. The response to her return on the official Facebook page has been far from the overwhelming positivity Simon and Syco would have hoped for, and whilst some are pleased to see her back many are asking why and are commenting on her lack of talent.

The judging panel is not what is wrong with the X Factor and it's not the only reason that ratings have fallen.
