Hello. Is it possible to buy a PVR which has both freesat and freeview tuners built in, hence allowing you to record from channels which are available from one provider but not the other?

I don't think so, too expensive and too small a market.

I've seen a box around which does have a satellite and DTT tuner in, but it's not official Freesat/Freeview.

Probably better to ask in the non platform specific forum for something like that.

A HTPC is probably your best bet here, albeit an expensive one.

Alternatively an old UK TiVo can be configured to do this using two stb's but does have the disadvantages you can only record one thing at a time, and no HD. Plus it means three boxes so probably defeats the object - I assume the reason you are asking about a combined unit is to avoid having two separate pvr boxes?.

Some Freesat TV's allow you to add an external hard drive and record from both freesat and freeview so that may be a possibility.

Yes, it's called two separate boxes! Seriously though, recorders are getting more slim lined in profile so less of an issue (for me anyway) of having two, from a space perspective.
