Its either the power lead is broke,
or I hope its not the actual i-pad that maybe defective,
any thoughts on any one with a samsung galaxy i-pad

I recommend you get in touch with Samsung UK, via their website. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 was taking ages to charge, wouldn't charge at all when switched on and wouldn't connect to my laptop, so I contacted Samsung UK a few days ago and they said they'd send me a new USB data cable. They said it was due to a software update that made the other cable incompatible with my device. I received my new cable this morning and so far it's working.
