Dunkin Donuts now in the UK

They seem to be rapidly expanding in the UK now with 2 stores and sponsoring Liverpool Football Club, they only entered the UK market in January. They also have plans to open in Liverpool.

Anyone been to their Harrow and Chelmsford stores, what are they like?

If it is anything like their Baskin Robbins stores they will be very slimmed down.

So did I. Their donuts were fantastic then and there were so many different types. I went to one near Picadilly a few years ago but they were no where near as good.

Looks like a slimmed down selection of 5 doughnuts as a trial I guess but I have noticed something unlike Krispy Kreme they offer hot food like Bacon butties and they serve them all day. I am visiting Liverpool later this year hopefully their Liverpool branch will be open by then.

I'm only 33 so it wasn't that many decades ago. I remember it as a teenager so I reckon that was when I about 15 so was still around about 1995 not that many decades ago really and I think there was one around for a bit after that as well after the main one on Argyle Street closed think there was still one on Sauchiehall Street for a while after that.

So a couple of decades a go then as 1995 was 19 years ago.

Do they do the bacon on the doughnuts though? Now that is something I would make a special trip for.

There used to be a Dunkin Donuts in Canterbury many years ago, but wasn't there for very long before they shut up shop.

Visit Red's True Barbecue in Leeds and Manchester for the Donut Burger.

I could probably make one myself. I saw Jay Rayner's review of Red's and it's put me off the place.

There was a place in America that I saw on TV that did maple syrup and bacon doughnuts - I liked the sound of it.

It's quite common in the US. I even saw a huge cake with bacon all over it!

I had them Dunkin Donuts a few years ago when I was in Dubai. Really looked forward to sampling dunkin donuts and it was very disappointing. I prefer M&S donuts and of course donuts freshly made from an outdoor stall.

Exactly this -- yes, agreed.

Dunking Donuts has been in the UK for donkeys years. Or "Dunkin" years.

To the OP - decades, in fact.

Didn't they withdraw from the UK and have just come back though?

The place you went to in Piccadilly was a dunkin donuts branch over 20 years ago but got taken over by another company.
