Seems there is some footage of the Red and Black concert on YT

This is a great rendition of Headbanger (Yui apparently falls off stage - but she was ok)

Both their Forum AND Brixton shows are also on DVD, so that makes every single UK gig (not including festivals) they've ever done available for DVD/Blu-Ray, they must genuinely love playing here.

No UK release date yet as far as I can tell?

Only available from Japan, and will cost £40 or more including postage. (and that's just for the regular edition. Limited edition much more.)

I love BM, but they do make things very difficult for fans outside Japan to get their merch and tickets for their home gigs.

That's just Japan in general, I tried to buy tickets for Guns N Roses' Tokyo show in January but promptly found out that not only do you need a Japanese address, but also a Japanese phone number, Japanese name and Japanese credit card, leaving every single person not in or from Japan, sh!t out of luck.

I'm hoping they will release the Tokyo Dome concerts (imminent) on DVD/BR later next year, I think it will be a mind blowing gig.

Tokyo Dome set list :

Tales of the Destinies gets a debut outing, but no Headbanger, Awadema Fever..nor Sis Anger which are probably my faves, maybe on the tomorrows gig though

Black Night is going to be a completely different set list. All songs from the two albums will be played over the two nights.

Have already seen a few fancam clips and pictures from the first gig. Stage set looks incredible. Costumes are now black and gold! All the audience were given a neck brace to wear, which lit up during The One (English version!)

I know, I have the DVD.

The UK is by far their biggest market outside of Japan, which is remarkable considering how few times they have played here.

After their support slot with Red Hot Chili Peppers in December I would be surprised if there isn't a UK tour announced for some time next year.

If you're referring to Mischief of the Metal Gods, that's a Kami Band instrumental. They've played it before at a few gigs - it's on the Budokan DVD (though not listed as such)

There’s already a band called “Ladybaby” trying to do a similar thing, but they’re kind of terrible!
I found out last night that Ladybeard has left Ladybaby .. they're now going to be called "The idols formerly known as Ladybaby".

I was hoping for an album as well

I hate LadyBaby.

Its basically some Ozzie bloke taking the piss outta kawaii culture. I just hope the Japanese fans are in on the joke.

Their music is terribly & he looks like a piss taker cashing in.

Babymetal may be a industry created group & they are theatrical, but they are not risible & the quality of music is very good.

I can't bear LadyBaby & Babymetal being talked about in the same breath-they're MILES apart.

I do feel pretty bad for the girls in Ladybaby though, I mean piss taker or not, without the bearded bloke in their band, they've lost what makes their act stand apart from Babymetal and the various other Babymetal clones and will more than likely fade into obscurity moving forward.

I think they're wanting to build up to an arena tour, but in that regards the RHCP support slot will have to pay off in dividends, because like I said before, Wembley wasn't sold out and that gig had been on sale for a full 9 months in advance, so there was plenty of time to get tickets, so if 9 months couldn't even sell out 1 arena date, they're going to have pull out all the stops with RHCP to sell out multiple arena dates.

Unless they backtrack down to Brixton Academy again, but personally I think Babymetal is one of those bands that just suit a big stage and big production more.

Exactly. I suspect the two girls will carry on in the short term as I suspect they've probably got dates to fulfill but it's going to be impossible to re-create the group as was likely originally planned.

I mean, how many cross dressing australian wrestlers who speak japanese are there out there exactly ?

Watched the Wembley blu-ray last night. Imported from Japan (using CDJapan) and not exactly cheap, but a lot cheaper than the version that's currently available from Amazon (probably also an import). Although rumour has it that it will become available in the UK in the New Year. CD of the show is out soon, but only has 13 of the 17 tracks from the show.

Picture and sound quality very good, but slightly disappointing that the audio is only stereo, not surround (something that seems common to all their concert dvds).

Overall a great souvenir of the occasion.

Looking forward to the Tokyo Dome b-r now

I do find it frustrating that as the UK is by far their biggest market outside of Japan we don't seem to get any benefit out of that.

I would have thought with the support slot for RHCP coming up they would have taken advantage of that and released the DVD/Blu-ray in the UK, especially as it is the run up to Christmas as well!

I really want it but torn between waiting on it being released late this year on early next or burning something like £50 to have it now.

Really looking forward to the Tokyo Dome BR, now that will be spectacular.

First show of the BM/RHCP tour tonight. Looking forward to it (well the first act anyway). There's new merch for it, but I doubt if I'l be able to get there in time to snap anything up, if it sells as fast as it did at Wembley.

Just a random thought, but i'd have loved Mike Judge to have Beavis and Butthead react to Babymetal

Butthead "Uh huh huh huh! She said Painkirrah."

Beavis (raises horns and furiously headbangs) "This is cool"

Butthead "No it isn't, dumbass" This is like err, terrible"

Beavis "No bunghole, this rocks"

Fight ensues...

Difficult crowd for the girls last night. Not many people in the auditorium at the start of their set, people drifting in as their show went on, but probably less than a quarter full at best.

Obviously the BM fans were up for it, but by the end of the set, I think they were winning over some new fans. From where I was in the seats at the side, I could see the BM fans being very enthusiastic from the start, but by the last few numbers, there seemed to be a lot more people getting in the swing of things. When Su commands, people obey "Everybody jump!"

Su was superb, her singing was absolutely on the button. I don't think she missed a note throughout. And her English seems to have really progressed.

The C&R sections were simplified for the non-fan audience. For example, in Gimme Choco, best being Su: "Get ready to sing chocolate with us! It's a very simple word so don't mess up!"

Set list:
BABYMETAL DEATH
Awadama Fever
Catch Me If You Can
Megitsune
Gimme Chocolate
KARATE
Ijime, Dame, Zettai.

Much to my surprise (not being a fan of theirs) I quite enjoyed RHCP. Flea was an entertainment on his own, both with his musical prowess and his antics. He even did a handstand walk along the stage when they came out for their encore. It was a treat to witness two high-class bass players in Flea and Boh on the same night.
