I think she did.

It would be nice if they did a full UK tour as well. After all, they are doing a theatre tour in the US whereas they would be doing an arena tour in the UK now I think.

I've just realised that, obviously due to the language barrier, Su is singing "Painkirra"

I didn't like the Halford/BM collaboration - Rob's had his day and I found it really cringey. His vocal was awful and he looks sooooo old and fat, it just jarred against BM's youth.

Babymetal don't need to do this.

I realise I might be in a minority here, but no - just no.

I agree however at award ceremonies bands often do odd collaborations... And it was in America after all.

As much as I loved Priest back in the day I can see why Ken decided golf and perfume was a better option!!!

I think we saw Suzuka the person there, rather than Su-Metal the character. Wonder if there's a pointer to future directions for the band there?

It was also great to see the Kamis interacting closely with the girls, particularly Mikio and Takayoshi supporting Yui and Moa (or is that Yi and Mo?)

I'm not yet convinced that they could manage an arena tour in the UK. After all, Wembley didn't fully sell out, despite attracting a number of overseas visitors, and what seemed like the entire Japanese ex-pat community.

But I'm sure they could manage another Wembley with some theatre venues around the country.

Every time I see her she impresses me more and more, for someone her age she has a remarkably powerful voice and she can certainly sing!! I also think that as a band they are very much developing confidence and cohesion as a unit through all the touring rather than it just being Babymetal backed by the Kami Band which to a some extent it used to be.

It is a difficult one but I think a small arena tour with the full show could be successful, Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena, for example, only holds @ 7 - 8000. They did very well getting the numbers they did at Wembley considering the gig had pretty much zero media coverage in the build up, but was heavily reviewed by the media the following day.

They have also successfully played Download as well now and they are getting a lot of media attention in America, where so many these days look towards for the next big thing.

As much as I'd love to see this happening I have reservations - I don't want them to burn out and the girls work really hard - they are so young - let them have a break. Some people on social media have noted they looked bored or tired at times - don't know how true it is but its possible.

Other than that a UK arena tour wouldn't have the same international gravity of even a US theatre tour. But who knows..

The second show at the Tokyo Dome on 20th September has always been scheduled as the last date of the 2016 tour. I think if they were to do a UK tour it would be some time next year at the earliest, perhaps even 2018.

I would imagine they'll essentially go in to hiatus after the show in September. they did seem to fall off the radar for quite some time after the promotion for the first album.

Maybe that's how it works though? The girls are given plenty of time off between albums and then they're brought back in to do the vocals and then a year to 18 months of solid promotion and touring and then they're off again?

They have a school education to complete as well, I think, so that will take up quite a bit of their time. Possibly further education after that as well?

Yeah i'd imagine that's factored in to it as well. Although if you read through their timeline in Wikipedia, they do seem to have been going fairly solidly since 2013 without any real major break - Metal Resistance was released only 2 years after Babymetal which is quite a rapid turnaround.

I guess they probably have tutors that come in as and when needed and they must work in school time and down time with the touring schedule.

Just wondering though, after performing with Rob Halford, who else should they perform with ?

I suppose it would be just wrong if they collaborated with Manson

Metallica of course, as the girls have cited them as favourites (although probably being prompted by Koba). There's a fan-cam video somewhere where you can see the girls at the side of the stage watching a Metallica performance.

I think that was @ Reading last year.

They watch a lot of bands. After they played Sonishphere in 2014 we saw them watching Ghost from the mixing desk afterwards.

That would be pretty out there as well. To be honest, I think it would be pretty out there whoever they collaborated with.

Watching Su and James Hetfield doing his thing .. wow

Haha, that was cool, thanks for posting

Are Yui and Moa really playing guitar though? have to say, I'm sceptical.

There's a lot of debate about that. Some, who claim to be guitar players themselves, say that at least some of the rhythm chords are being played by the girls, but they're mixed very low. Moa particularly seems at least to be playing the right chords at the right time, but of course Yui & Moa are used to learning dance moves timed to perfection, so they could have transferred that skill to miming the guitar. The guitars are plugged in to transmitters, but for effect or reality we can't be sure.

Moa has had a guitar since she was younger, so probably has at least some basic skills. The basic rhythm for Breaking the Law is not difficult (apparently - when I tried to learn guitar I found any rhythm difficult!), so she seems the one most likely to have actually been playing.

True, and I have heard her say something about wanting to learn guitar before. Would be really cool if they added bits like that in, maybe on future albums or live shows.

Of course, the only real answer to that is "Only the Fox God knows"

Some pics of the Halford/BM performance - I notice that Yui and Moa are at least trying to look like they are playing power chords

Babymetal have just been announced as the support for Red Hot Chili Peppers' UK tour in December...

BABYMETAL confirmed as Special Guests on RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS UK TOUR!!

Unfortunately because I'm at Planet Rockstock and then seeing Delain in Amsterdam I can't make a single date...

Watched their concert in one go, those girls really earn their money don't they, I have trouble remembering to put one foot in front of the other - how they remember all those dance moves is beyond me.

I like the one on the left.

That'll be interesting as the Chili Peppers aren't very inspiring live thesedays. I expect they'll have to up their game or risk being an afterthought at their own party.

Love BM, can't stand RHCP. If not too expensive I may buy a ticket just for the BM show and leave when they've played their set.
