My DTI6300 was working fine until a few days ago. Now the timer for the recordings is not updating so it won't record things set on timer.

The 8 day guide is working fine and I can set things to record. If I go into 'Guide' its all up to date. However the now and next onscreen timings stay the same as when the unit is switched on. As it fails to record things set on timer I assume that it is the now and next timer that dictates the recording rather than the 8 day programme guide timer.

To reset the now and next timer the machine has to be turned off (not put into standby, but turned off).

It knows that it has missed the recordings as it puts the failure into messages, even without turning the machine off.

Has anyone had this problem before, or know of a solution?

I have 2 of these infernal boxes and use both to record using the EPG only.
I have never used the timer and the "now and next" are always changing.
My boxes are always powered up and never in standby ---- well not always true as they have a mind of their own now and then.
I have replaced the caps in the power supplies and the hard drive in one of the boxes.
Do you switch yours off at night ?
Regards

Both my boxes did this last night on More4.
The EPG had moved to the programme I wanted to record but the now and next stayed fixed on previous programmes.
Turning the boxes off and on several times failed to get the boxes to record.
I then received the failed recording messages.
If it was only one box then ok a glitch but it happened to both -------.
Doubt very much if there will ever be a solution to this ................
Regards.

Just spotted this reply --- sorry.
Done power supply caps on both machines keeps them switched on now !!
Hard drive replaced on one --- grunts away now but in the kitchen so not a bother.
These are only emergency boxes if I need extra recording capacity
Out of interest I recorded 2 programs on a satellite box this week and both had the wrong program description when pressing the info key --- the info was from the program before them.
Regards
