Overall I prefer Android as a platform but as I have all of my music and videos in iTunes and access them on Apple TV, I have been looking at an iPad Mini (non-retina) to use the iTunes Remote app to control the Apple TV instead of the supplied remote. Additionally, I am looking into getting a Harmony Smart control and would use the app they supply too (although they offer an Android one too but I think it is just for Android phones).
The tablet would mainly be used at home for the above purposes and a few other bits and bobs (Metro/Evening Standard apps, Sky+ app, few games maybe) but nothing major as I would use my MacBook for most stuff. Although my music is in iTunes, I have uploaded my whole collection to Google Play Music which I stream via my mobile when out and about. At home though, I use iTunes.
So, a 2012 iPad Mini can be picked up for £199, the same as a 2013 Nexus 7. Can you download an app for Android that allows you to access your iTunes catalogue, see the cover art and control the Apple TV like you can on an iPad?
