I can't drink coffee at all, but I drink a lot of tea - probably a mug per hour. When the mug's empty, I go to pick it up to drink from it and feel really disappointed, as if I haven't had a brew for ages. I can drink anyone I know under the table, tea-wise.

Not enough. Often only a couple. I'm aiming for eight I reckon.

How many times to go for a wee during the day?

Not from DS no, but we have Pact coffee, it's superb quality. We have it every fortnight and get it ground for a coffee machine (drip).

If you drink caffeine after say 4pm you are either a pleb or deranged

I have one cup of decaf coffee (a kind of cafe/latte) per day, and some days I might also have a decaf tea or a hot chocolate (not both).

The people drinking half a dozen cups a day or more: my question is why? I quite like my coffee, but I couldn't drink it by the half-gallon. Is there some metabolic deficiency which requires you to constantly be consuming liquid?

About 5 a year, when I've got a cold

Never understood coffee, never even tried it. I don't need caffeine to feel awake

In that case, I'm a deranged pleb

When at work, about 4 mugs of tea and the occasional coffee. I don't drink much tea at the weekend. Maybe a cup each day.

Sometimes I'll drink a cup of coffee with my cereal before bed. I don't really see the problem. I wasn't going to get to sleep for half-an-hour anyway.

Erm. I'm not sure, to be honest. About four or five times? I think I've trained myself to retain large quantities. But if I drink a glass of lager, I go within five mins of the first quarter of the glass, then every five mins after!

I drink about 10-12 cups of tea or coffee a day, and that includes a tea when I get home from work, another after my evening meal at 7-7.30 and then the last cup around 10pm.

It doesn't do me any harm, and I don't worry about it. How does this make me a pleb or deranged?

I drink between 8-12 giant mugs of decaf coffee or diet hot chocolate every day. Wee three or four times a day..

This makes me pleb or deranged how?

I drink at least 5 cups of green tea a day and 3 cups of peppermint. I always thought I drank a lot but reading some other posts has made me see my intake is quite small!

Strikes me you've never been to a decent restaurant then, seeing as they are always full to the rafters of people finishing their dinner off with a coffee and a chocolate.

Unless swanky restaurants actively court deranged plebs, of course.
