I`m stunned to find so many titles leaving the service by the end of this month. Lot`s of BBC shows are leaving including Torchwood, Hustle, That mitchell and Webb look, Robin Hood, Fawlty Towers, Mongrels and many more. There some films leaving to and a few other TV shows. Please take a look at this site made by somebody else helping you to see which titles are going. http://netflix.maft.co/lastchance Just hope this means that Top notch shows like Homeland and American Horror Story which recently arrived are joined by other hit shows.

It happens licenses expire. Same happens to any other content provider including mainstream channels.
The rights expire, new deals get done and so on.
Also that site doesn't look very reliable anyway far to many ??? march. Chances are they are just guessing and know nothing.

I am aware of this. But so far over 70 titles or more are leaving. This is a huge list of removals. Most of the stuff going i don`t mind going. I just wanted other people to know what`s going so that`s why i posted it.

As I keep saying about those accusing Amazon of pulling a fast one with their streaming about titles leaving on mass, what usually happens is deals aren't signed on a title by title basis but usually in packs of titles. Sometimes this may be a overall deal with a studio or as often happens they will take a big title or two and package it up with countless less appealing titles that on their own they would struggle to sell.

This does mean that while there are a few titles disappearing every day you get a mass exodus every few months when a big deal or deals expire

I do understand and not complaining about it but i have never seen so many leave Netflix since i been with them. It seems big things are coming instead which is great.

The expiry dates are plucked from the Netflix site itself and are completely reliable. Same thing happened a couple of months back; seemed lots of BBC shows were expiring, but they must of come to an arrangement because most of them ended up staying. Be interesting to see what happens this time.

The site is very reliable, i do know the guy that runs the site, the ??? mean that they were added before he started so he doesn't have a date when they were added.

Either most of these shows are under the same licensing agreement or it's just a huge coincidence - either way I don't see how this is such a huge deal; as said above, licenses expire, licenses are renewed, new stuff comes and old stuff goes. This probably isn't a sign of "big things" - it's just how the SVOD market works and my guess is that the majority of the BBC content will be back as soon as a new licensing deal is struck.

With the removals of titles on the 30/3/2014 plus 31/3/2014 it now adds up to 122 leaving the service at the end of this month.

I would imagine a bunch of those either won't leave or won't leave for long. The studios negotiating tactic often seems to be to leave it late or let rights expire so they have more time to shop popular titles around and to use customer annoyance to push prices up

Obviously you weren't around in January when nearly 500 titles were removed.

Its normal there is always lots removed at the end of the month.

Looks like Red Dwarf has gone. I'm really anoyed at that because I only had 5 more episodes to watch. Let's hope they come back.

Last time they had a big cull of BBC stuff a lot either didn't go anywhere or came back within a day or two. Luckily the stuff still stayed on my list so there was no messing about.

More recent stuff in, older stuff out .. and so on. They can't have a limitless archive.

Plenty of new stuff going on though ..

A lot of the UK shows that the OP mentions in his OP are available, or are squirreled away on Virgin Media catch-up services - its not always immediately clear where they are as you need to search for specific TV programmes / series etc, but they are available on this service in an archived, type of way.

Hustle, That Mitchell and Webb Look and Fawlty Towers etc to name a few, amongst others are the ones that come to mind from reading this. 8 out of 10 cats is another show with old repeats available on these types of virgin platform services.

Dunno if that's any help, to anyone.

I'm finding there's not a lot to watch on Netflix anymore, being a fan of UK TV more than films, we have lost

Outnumbered
That Mitchell & Webb Look
Keeping Up Appearances
Mr Bean
Men Behaving Badly
Channel 4 shows such as Peep Show & Shameless are all gone
Hardly anything from ITV anymore such as Downton Abbey

It used to have rarer things such as
Reggie Perrin
The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog
Relic Hunter

It's annoying that they can just disappear and I think I'd rather have them on DVD or downloaded via torrent, that way you always have them, they do still have some good alternative documentaries such as Food Inc and The Corporation, they could be the only thing that keeps me subscribing to Netflix, but they are starting to lose too many TV series.

In your opinion perhaps. There is still far more in my queue for me to watch than I will ever have time to.

No one is forcing you to subscribe, if you find it so useless then save yourself the money and buy the DVDs. Most of the things you mention could probably be picked up for less than a fiver online.

No one online streaming service is going to carry things indefinitely.
