Paul Trueman - EE
Would you like to see him return?
We never actually saw him being killed, Patrick "identified him" but said at the time he was barely recognisable, he could have identified the wrong person? Maybe they could do a week of episodes in Northern Ireland, where Paul has been secretly living, Patrick and Cora go there for the week. Patrick thinks he spots Paul, and then it turns out he has been alive all this time, the reason he never went back to Walford was because the thugs threatened to kill his family? Long shot, or do you think it could work? |

Paul Trueman was a great character but he is dead so he can't return.

I liked the character Paul Trueman, Gary Beadle played him very well, Paul was so much better then his wimpy Dr brother Anthony.

I'll always remember Paul Trueman for his hilarious rant at his dying mother Audrey, "WHAT ABOUT MEEEE?! WHAT ABOUT MEEEE?!"
![]() . Me and my dad laughed our arses off at that scene. He wasn't the most prominent character on the show, but I still regard him as a classic character and was part of the great era between 2000-2002. |

I saw Paul Trueman playing a gay man in an episode of Ab Fab the other day.
Quite the difference.

Paul was a good character. Agree with Joey Boswell, he was much more bearable than dreary Dr Anthony...or Annanee, as Zoe Slater used to call him. |

How did he supposedly die anyway? Was he beaten to death, shot, stabbed, some other gruesome method? How was the body unrecognizable?

Lol, good to know I'm not the only who remembers this scene: I know it wasn't meant to be a funny scene, but I couldn't stop laughing at Paul's endless wailing

The way you quoted it makes it sound like a song from a musical!
![]() . "EastEnders: The Musical" coming to a theatre near you on April 15 . "What About Meeee" is one of the musical numbers in the show .

I don't think it would be a credible storyline. I also think for now there are enough returning characters.

It's a shame as Paul was played by a very fine actor.
I liked the bloke. Why does EE always kill off it's best male characters? Den, Dennis, Steve, Andy, Michael, Johnny, Jase etc. But TPTB just do not seem to care as long as Philth is immortal.

Also features Janine singing "Slip on Shoes", Barry singing "I only wanted time off for panto", Anthony singing "Crying" and Paul's heartfelt finale of "Make it quick"!
![]() Anthony and Paul also play a musical duet called, "We Love You, Kat Slater, We do" - the song they sang in the pub during the "Who's the Shagger?" storyline .

He was a complex character played by an actor who seemed to get the character and played him well

Agree with all your points. Female characters don't seem to be hit as hard though, at least more recently - wonder why this is?
It's probably down to the fact the best male characters have been a bit dodgy and people wanted to off them, the best female characters have been matriarchs and people wanted to worship them. Except Janine, she should have been offed. |
