Somewhat younger than the original, but an excellent actress nonetheless.”

They look very alike! but will a reacast go down well?

Don't see why not. They recast actors still in the show quite often and expect us not to notice. Michelle left nearly 20 years ago, so another actress should be more accepted.

Does Ms Tully still work on the show behind the camera?

I think Michelle would be fantastic to come back for the 30th anniversary, especially if Ross Kemp returns, this would make room for Eastenders to introduce a new character with family ties: Mark Junior. We have never met Mark or know anything about him but given that he is Fowler and Mitchell he'd be a very strong willed young man, I definitely think Michelle would have had her hands full with him. If he ever was introduced I would hope DTC would cast an American, I still haven't gotten over Vicki Fowlers terrible accent.

She's directed episodes in the past, I don't think she's there anymore though.

She's too high and mighty ..

I can understand people wanting to move on but for goodness sake for the sake of the show that put you on the map in the first place, the least you could do is take a few hours out to film a 10 minute clip!

Snooty mare.

It would be nice to see her back even if it were brief. If only to undo my lasting distant memory of her as a moody mare who always had a face on.

She's not under any obligation to do anything for the show. People move on. End of.

That's like saying I should go back and do a day's work on a job I did years ago because it gave me the experience that got me started in my career.

She doesn't even act anymore so she's not going to come back.

Do you mean Timbuktu?

Nick Berry doesn't act anymore but he still made that brief appearance at the end of the credits in Pat's funeral episode.

If she doesnt want to do it they shouldnt recast, just leave the character in the past.

Love a good return but EE is in a new era and needs to keep developing.

So that mean's Sue Tully should too? Hmmm, I don't think it does.

She quit acting years ago and is now a director/producer. She also now calls herself SUE TULLY in the credits, perhaps to distance herself from the past.

She was a miserable moany cow with acne as I remember. Why on earth would anyone want her back?

OP move on..... the past is gone. Please stop posting threads asking for old characters back. I just don't see the point of it.

I'm a huge fan of the early years of EE including Michelle's character but I'd actually HATE her to return for the show's anniversary.

The actress has made it clear over the years she has no desire or want to come back, and I'd hate to sit and watch a special episode of a show I love, revolving around an actress whom I know doesn't really want to be there.

I'd rather they focussed it on actors/characters who have contributed more to the show.

Again I stress I don't dislike Michelle. I think she was a great character. At the time.

During the Anniversary Week, yes! Absolutely.

Of all the previous characters around during the very first episode, she'd be the only realistic one to return. A scene with Sharon, Dot, Ian and Michelle would be brilliant.

I agree there is a resemblance but I doubt Maxwell Martin would do it. She has too good a career in 'gritty Bafta' type dramas.

I wonder why Eastenders fans can't move on...no one goes on about Suranne Jones or Sarah Lancashire coming back to Corrie....

The only way back is in a coffin.

And to be fair, I wouldn't be bothered by that.

Because Corrie has a much higher percentage of longstanding cast.

It's quite strange that. Because they do.. I've seen plenty of threads in the past that want Surrane and Katherine Kelley back but not to the same extent as EE. I think maybe it's because EE has a higher departure rate and characters leave a bigger impression in their short time.

I think this threads really stupid what's with all the speculation about someone who's disappeared of the face of the earth do we even know if she still lives in the UK? If she's well and health etc

Hardly the same...........I don't what you do but I'm sure an actress' schedule can allow her to make a guest appearance; hell BRAD PITT (and loads of other A LIST celebrities) did in Friends etc....Susan Tully is not exactly A List and I think for the sake of her fans and what a great impact it would have, a one off scene is not a lot to ask...
