Powerpoint on Android
Phred
25-03-2014
Is there software that allows a Powerpoint, which includes saved fonts and transitions, to display correctly on an Android Pad?

My Asus has Polaris Office on it, but substitutes the saved fonts with standard Android fonts, and also displays complete slides, ignoring the transitions.

Thanks

Google docs can do basic powerpoint presentations but if its complex you may need to save as a WMV.

I've got that . its good, but it doesn't do transitions - just displays the whole slide...

It also only has a limited selection of fonts.

I haven't tried it, but this one may well do what you ask:

The full version is a bit pricey, but it might be worth giving the trial version a go to see if it does what you need.

I've yet to use a presentation pack on Android or iOS that works as well as Powerpoint does.

Methinks the most acclaimed general one is Kingsoft though Powerpoint is also seen as quite a basic non specialist app.

I mean Powerpoint is a bit crap. It only gained dominance in being part of the Office package.
It was like it was added as an afterthought to Excel and Word.

it may be but it is the most widely used presentation software. And transitions can be a pain. They don't always work between 2013 and 2010 never mind going to another office suite.

Why not simply print PowerPoint files to a PDF file first. Many free PDF writers on windows.

This is a read only solution though.

I think OP said that they had transition in there, don't know how that would convert to PDF ?

From source 'send by PDF' may be the way to view it.

Even Powerpoint running on a different PC may substitute fonts.
Whats chosen for you will depend on which fonts are installed.
