We just got the the non-recordable box and there are 2 USB ports on it. Just wondered what for? I know they dont supprt wi-fi, so my dongle wont work.
I tried plugging in a memory stick into both ports but nothing (seemed to) happen.
Just seems strange that there are 2 for no apparent reason.

They could be there from another model and it is just cheaper to keep them rather than remodel them.

But they could also be used for USB upgrading of firmware.

Also for playing media, if in the right format.

at the moment they are not used on any youview boxes except for certain firmware updates firmware updates, the spec YV boxes have to be built to is for 2 USB ports to be included and wifi capable bit wifi not being mandatory so basically just like USB ports on sky boxes they are useless (well unless you class being able to use them to power other things) and are for "FUTURE" usage

They are powered, so you could plug your phone/ Wii controller/ Ebook/tablet charging leads into them...

I plug a USB fan into them occasionally when the box heats up from time to time. Does a great quick job at cooling it down
