It was really weird. Even my EE-hating housemates commented on it.

They have been experimenting a bit recently. There was an overhead shot of the coffin in Dot's house which would have been higher than the ceiling. Perhaps they are trying to be more cinematic!

I thought it was well done, a sort of new perspective on the Square.

It was supposed to be from the crow's eyes, wasn't it?

It was something new which I liked, last time they did anything as similar as that was when Janine rich gran died and she was looking out over a picturesque square but this was more dramatic and definitely gave a new perspective on the square.

I think it was a little digitally enhanced or at least sped up as the movement wasn't natural and would have been very awkward with a crane camera, it would have also taken a lot longer than a few second to pan across the square like that in natural speed.

I assumed they set up a wire and attached a camera to it to get that shot and at that speed plus wobbliness. (If wobbliness is even a word lol).

If they do some fancy shots for the 30th I'd love to see wider Walford, the square is just a small part of what would realistically be a big town in the heart of East London, just like West Ham, Hackney, Shoreditch or Stratford. Some camera trickery and computer graphics and Walford could be slotted right into the real east end! We know DTC wants to make the set more realistic.

Corrie did it for their 50th but it was at night and you didn't really see much of the rest of Weatherfield.
