Hiya I am thinking of buying a Asus Transformer Android tablet. Has any one had experience with them? And can anyone recommend a model? Thanks

I have an Asus TF300, I've had it since November 2012. It's an excellent tablet, very powerful and looks good. However the screens are incredibly weak, prone to cracking (which often causes the touch function to stop working) and Asus seem to be incredibly poor at accepting any sort of responsibility for such poor quality screens. A little bit of Googling should tell you all that you need to know about the screen issues!

The older TF101 with keyboard is still a cracking tablet for the money. Mine is rooted running 4.3 very smoothly.
There were problems with the keyboards but now fixed. I had mine sent to the repair centre by Asus and returned within the week. Very competent customer service in my opinion.

Same here.

My one is running 4.0 as I'm no brave enough to force 4.3 onto it.

Just to echo that. There was a problem with some early copies of the TF101 that meant they had poor signal range for wireless and GPS, but that has long since been remedied. Mine is still working well after a couple of years of reasonably tough handling.

It may make the unit thicker and heavier but the dock really is good at protecting the main unit, doubles battery life and has full size USB. Mine been on three long haul trips starting when my kids were 4 and 7. Great for on the airport and plane and survived quite a few knocks.

Another thumbs up, Transformer Prime for me, great piece of kit.

Had it a couple of years and still going strong and I picked up a spare keyboard dock at CEX for £40 a few weeks ago.
