I'm glad we're through the Pertwee era now, his po-faced seriousness really dragged the show down for me.
Why would you want to travel around space and time with someone who reduced the fun and wonder to something akin to an exam that he is constantly disappointed in you for failing?
Contrary to the highly dubious post reporting on a 7yr olds thoughts about the episode above, you can tell when Original Who has the legs to stretch through 5/6/7 episodes and when they're blatantly padding to fill time.
I'd be all for a few more 2 or even 3 parters in the Modern era but 6+ is stretching it beyond breaking point in all but the top 5% of episodes.
Still, he's gone now. Begin, Tom Baker, lets have some FUN

Well I agree about the padding but that is a feature of practically every story in the era of Old Who. I must step up to defend Pertwee though who was very charismatic. He certainly impressed my five year old self who refused to watch the first episodes featuring Tom Baker because he couldn't possibly be the real Doctor. The son of a friend of mine is currently in exactly the same position in that he is insisting that Peter Capaldi is far too mean-looking to be the Doctor and that he is not going to watch now that Matt Smith is gone. I am sure he will come around just like I did.

Even though those stories are pretty good, they could at least of shown more Davison.
