I posted this on another forum, but thought you guys may be interested in how Doctor Who is doing on Horror....

We have a double No. 1.......

Horror +1

1 DOCTOR WHO: MASQUE OF MANDRAGORA (FRI 2124) 33
2 DOCTOR WHO: MASQUE OF MANDRAGORA (FRI 2053) 27
3 DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF EVIL (MON 2124) 25
4 HIGHLANDER (SUN 2000) 23
5 HORROR HIGHLIGHTS (THU 1914) 21
6 ILSA: THE TIGRESS OF SIBERIA (MON 2343) 20
7 DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF EVIL (MON 2053) 16
8 FEAR (1990) (TUE 2202) 15
9 DARK ANGEL (THU 1923) 15
10 BEAR (MON 2536) 15
Horror Channel
w/e 8 Jun 2014
000's
1 DOCTOR WHO: THE ANDROID INVASION (WED 1953) 39
2 DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF EVIL (TUE 1951) 39
3 DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF EVIL (TUE 2026) 35
4 DOCTOR WHO: THE ANDROID INVASION (THU 2025) 27
5 DOCTOR WHO: MASQUE OF MANDRAGORA (FRI 2024) 25
6 FEAR (1990) (TUE 2102) 22
7 ZOLTAN HOUND OF DRACULA (SUN 2245) 22
8 DOCTOR WHO: THE ANDROID INVASION (WED 2025) 21
9 PAN'S LABYRINTH (WED 2100) 20
10 DOCTOR WHO: PLANET OF EVIL (TUE 1035) 19

With 7 of the top 10's on the main channel (and the top 5!!!) it appears that they are onto a winner.

I wonder if they have an option for further purchases (or an entire run)
Would be good if they bought the rights to all the stories of every classic Doctor.

Since last Saturday afternoon, my Virgin Media PVR (V+) has started to pick up two hours of Dr Who at 15:30.

Previously, it just picked up the Mon-Fri afternoon episodes.

Can anyone tell me if these Sat afternoon slots are showing extra episodes, or if they have started doing an omnibus of the weekday showings

Cheers.

I`ve been watching some of the classics on Horror myself this past few weeks and I have to say they do bring back some memories, despite some of the naff special effects,I think its great personally that the classics are being aired on TV again.

Tom Baker being one of favourites of course.

Its on their website: http://www.restoration-team.co.uk/ but I cant link to the exact page as they have set the page up in an odd way.
It doesnt look like there is any restoration done on this story though it looks like a straight transfer to DVD.

Try this: http://www.purpleville.pwp.blueyonde...oTheDaleks.htm though its from that same site even though it doesnt look like it!

All classic series Doctor Who DVD's have had restoration on them, how good they look depends on how bad the original tapes were, and whether or not they could locate any original 16mm film of the inserts.

I was looking through the EPG the other day and discovered there was a story being shown that I hadn't recorded - Inferno. As it was episode 3 or 4 I didn't record it but thought I had better check whether there were any more being broadcast that I hadn't recorded. There is only one listed by Horror than I hadn't got - The Carnival of Monsters - which will be broadcast on 7 January. I have set my box to record it - but it has picked up a number of other stories that I already have.

http://www.horrorchannel.co.uk/shows...=Entertainment

I carefully recorded all of these programmes back in June, but have been slow in watching them, so my box has been fuller than I would like. I'll have to delete these duplicates otherwise I'll run out of space!
