EE: Why is Ronnie so obsessed with Roxy?
I always found their relationship a little bit weird but I thought it was just me. However ever since Ronnie has returned, I noticed that I wasn't imagining it and EE are clearing going somewhere with this.
It looks like Ronnie wants nobody anywhere near her sister™. She killed Carl, granted he was bad but I didn't think he deserved to die. Tonight it looked like she was giving that market inspector guy a death stare. It looks like she wants Roxy all to herself, or something. Which is weird cause they're both grown women who should be leading their own seperate lives... Anyone else really disappointed with how they've handled Ronnie since her return? We all knew she was a bit screwed up, ever since the baby swap but I miss the GOOD Ronnie, and it looks like we'll never ever get that back. Ronnie from 2007-2010 was my favourite character.

I think it stems from being abused by her father as a child which is probably why she's so conscious of Roxy's love interests; not to mention the fact that Damien had got Roxy hooked on drugs back in Ibiza which would have been a real ordeal for Ronnie.
She seemed to back down a little towards the end of her first stint but I think the Alfie and Carl business has brought her protectiveness back to the forefront... and to a whole new level. I think Dr Al was the only interest Ronnie approved of. Love R&R - EastEnders wouldn't be the same without them!

Yes like Rose said, Ronnie suffered abuse from her father and almost sacrificed herself for her sister. Old habits are hard to break....Roxy has been her one constant in her life as well. She lost Danielle, her unborn child, and James, yet Roxy has always been there.
Plus I think Ronnie has a 'rescuer' personality, where she feels she has to save people to be happy in some way. Not to mention, the bond between sisters can be extremely powerful. |

Maybe because Roxy is all that Ronnie has. It's been just the two of them for years (except when Jack was around.) Ronnie is the older sister so it's natural for her to be more protective of Roxy than the other way round. But it is rather obsessive I agree. I don't know where their going with this though.

I like this side of Ronnie, she's a lot more interesting than she has been for a long time IMO.

Everything Ronnie loved and cared about slipped away from her, ironically all in her short initial four years on the show. So it isn't really much of a surprise that she would latch onto the only thing she has left in her life.
Saying that I do find her relationship with Roxy a tad disturbing to say the least. |

It'll definitely develop more and more to show her inheriting Archie's controlling streak - which she's always had anyway.
I really hope they don't make it incestuous. |

They should definitely go there with an incest story - It would explain Ronnie's attitude perfectly!!
Brookside were brave enough to do it in the 90s! |

Well, Roxy doesn't give a toss about her own daughter, so why should she about Ronnie?

Well I did really like their Gym scene, but it was badly let down by the lack of nudity and whipped cream.
