It will over 10m for sure. I think you're just hoping for a poor rating.

Last years final got 10.56million between 7.30-10pm. Had that final aired in the 7-9.30pm slot like it is this year, it'd have probably shaven off about 0.5m due to the earlier start [fewer people watching tv 7-7.30pm] and it would've got about 10.1m.

Considering this years live shows are down about 7pct year on year, if you factor that into the 10.1m, then youre looking at a rating of around 9.3million for this year's final.

Well, I guess we'll see Samuel. Last year it was an extremely warm day - so the weather will a big factor this year. I don't think 10m is an over prediction. The final always claws back the viewers from the semi-finals.

The Gavin and Stacey one makes me smile as that was a Christmas Special episode and scheduled on Christmas Eve; a couple of years later they aired the show on Christmas Day but it was a bogstandard episode (episode 5 of series 3) set on the August Bank Holiday Monday!
