I had some correspondence to-and-fro with Anthony Read a few years back, and he was a thoroughly interesting chap. How sad that he has gone.

Big obit for Kenneth Gilbert in the Telegraph:

(nice pic of him with lovely Wendy Williams!)

What a strange coincidence. I'm halfway through rewatching 'Seeds of Doom' right now.

She was great in the Fourth Doctor story The Ark In Space back in early 1975.

I saw her in the original of Survivors on DVD in 2014. She was one of the few people that had survived the deadly virus that swept through Britain and Europe in the show.

So, so sad!

As far as I know, now that he has gone, there is no one left alive from the main cast of 'Are You Being Served?'

He was the last survivor of the original cast. There are others who are still alive but they joined the cast at a later date.

I only recently watched his three Avengers appearances via Youtube and they were rather good I thought

Apart from Frazer and Debbie I don't think there are many members of the cast of Web of Fear still alive. Ralph Watson (Captain Knight) definitely is but other than that.....

The only problem I have with that story is the "comedy Welshman" characterization given to Driver Evans. I don't know if that how he was written or how Derek Pollitt decided to play him but it doesn't really fit into the rest of the story.

Either way you have to wonder if it's where Jimmy Perry and David Perry got the idea for Pvt Cheeseman in Dad's Army.

Wasn't Private Cheeseman just Talfryn Thomas playing Talfryn Thomas?

There are a few Web of Fear people still about, in addition to Ralph Watson. John Levene was inside a Yeti, and some of his co-Yetis are still knocking around. Tina Packer (Anne Travers) runs a theatre in America. Derek Martin is prominently in shot as a UNIT soldier.

I watched the Rollason Avengers episodes a couple of years back (The Avengers complete boxset I the best hundred quid I ever spent) and had some correspondence with him after I watched it. He seemed really nice guy who did fantastic things for his local community in Wales, which all seemed far more important than his former acting career.

I'm not sure whether Richardson Morgan (Corporal Blake) is stlll alive. His last IMDB credit is from 1998

RIP. She was a good actress and interesting woman, always good value. She was quite the ITC stalwart and could be funny (Randall and Hopkirk Deceased) tragic (UFO) and a bit weird (My fave Dangerman episode: The Ubiquitous Mr Lovegrove)

As a single parent when it was often looked down upon, she'd got wind that the catholic McGoohan wasn't sure about her casting. Apparently before filming she said "Hey, McGoohan. Hear you've got a problem with me. Well bleep bleep!"

Got on famously after that and did another episode a year later.

Ms Corri seems to have been a plain-speaking woman, unafraid of expressing her opinion and standing up for herself!

On the commentary for Tomb... Debbie says she once went on a date with him and Frazer says that due to the differences in their heights they must have looked like a vent act

Not only that, but a special mention must go to Ronnie Corbett as well. He and Ronnie did a Who sketch in 1983 called The Adventures Of Archie and he appeared in a special charity episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures playing a Slitheen.

Goodbye Ronnie and goodbye Reg.

Ronnie Corbett: "The Two Ranis" I still chuckle.
