In fairness to her wher as others using backtrack she almost always sings live. She ain't a mover and it affects the vocals.

Well I watched her on BBC 3 and she was pretty good. She has a good number of decent songs in that set.

I have to say i thought Katy Perry was good, but not great. I was very surprised by her set list. Songs like Roar, Dark Horse and I Kissed A Girl i didn't expect her to play so early in her set, i thought we'd hear them more towards the end and then there were other songs which i did expect to hear but were excluded entirely. It was rather bizarre. It could have been better i thought.

You forget that she can actually play guitar and when she sings acoustic she sings rather beautifully and very well, but when she sings her uptempo pop songs you realise her voice isn't that strong at all. She can't sing very loud and she can't project her voice very well either when she sings which is why her vocal sounds weak. For example when she sang Birthday you could barely hear her vocals but on other songs she sounded fine.

Having said that she gave a tremendous performance and was a decent headliner, got the crowd pumped up, gave good banter with the audience which is always appreciated in Glasgow, loved her dancers, various costume changes, the large video screen and particularly its visuals. She really, truly put on a show! My favourite part of the whole thing had to be when it all went dubstep and onscreen was that awesome video of her in a psychiatric cell looking rather creepy and then the paint being thrown about. That was WTF but very cool! Lol

Katy perry blew me away last night in a surprise manner
She was just on fire. Her vocals were great. The themes were gorgeous and the arrangement of some of the songs were different and suitible.

Sometimes though the performer has final say on whether their set can be shown properly live, delayed live or in some cases at all. I don't know if that's the case here though.

From 7-8pm, there were 4 songs from Rita and i think 4 from London Grammar. The rest was chat, an interview and showing other artists playing live. The exact same happened for 8-9pm when there were 5 songs from KOL but only 3 from Tinie Tempah. It makes a mockery of their scheduling! !!!”

That's why I prefer Red Button coverage when possible. Nearly always show full sets rather than bits and pieces.

It really takes you out of the performance on occasions when you see this happen because it makes them annoyed that it's happening and they end up looking grumpy because of it which doesn't come across well on television.”

Aye, Hannah from LG did not look very pleased with having to adjust her earpiece every few seconds. And Katy Perry was at it too.

Anyway, I really enjoyed Katy Perry, she may not be the best singer in the world but she always goes out to put on a good fun show and she did that last night imo.

My headliners in order of Preference - #1 Coldplay - Superb. #2 Katy Perry - Really good. #3 Tiesto - A little disappointed, expected better.

Going to spend some time watching some of the BBC Introducing acts.

What's been everyone's highlights?

One of my main highlights was the Peacock video interlude where she is the padded white room and then the brilliant drop into dub step.

In The Flesh was more important for them.

Yes I liked that too.

Perfect amount of time for her to get changed.

Yes, a few years ago, Nero only allowed the last 15 minutes of their set to be broadcast online, about half an hour of radio highlights and a video of one song to be made available on the website from their set. The BBC said they hadn't given permission for anything else to be broadcast or made avaliable.

I think it was more to do with the fact their album hadn't been released at that point and they didn't want the songs to be made public, as they later allowed full set broadcasts to the BBC, Channel 4 and iTunes.
