Anybody but Bruce - even Orville the Duck would do a better job!

ABB [anyone but Anton] for me. It worries me that consideration would even be given to him.

Claudia and Tess would work well but if the corporation feel they have to have a name then for me it would be Graham Norton who did fine work on all the Andrew Webber "find a reality star for my next production .. " type shows.

I think I'd rather see Brucie doddering it away for ten more years than Anton or Barrowman. Tess and Claudia would be okay-ish. Optimal would be somebody with the old era/old school charm. That's why I like Brucie despite more and more of deficiencies. He just fits in the spirit of the show.

Des O Connor.

My Mum now wants Anton to replace Bruce, she's always thought he is being groomed to take over eventually. She even thinks Brendan sometimes, she says "why else are they still using him while sacking plenty others" lol.

We can't patronize that bruce is a good host now as he truly isn't, used to rate him, don't anymore. The novelty of him has worn off, yet BBC have been a bit lazy carrying on employing him in the first place. Can appreciate they have their hands tied as they don't want another ageism debate and effectively a legal issue, but there comes a time when he as no spring chicken himself has to be put to pasture and someone else has to step into brucies shoes, its undoubtedly that they would have big boots to fill considering how successful brucie has been like in the past. If they do get someone new in they won't do it for a meaningless reason.

Claudia and Tess.. No no no no no no no no no. I cannot stress this is wrong in every singleway, they were bad enough on the prerecorded Sunday show and frankly the idea of those on live for nearly two hours is actually depressing.

It is going to be extremely hard to find anyone who can do the job. Live tv is not easy and SCD has just lost the best ever at it.

Not Barrowman - don't want the show to become camp central. Would just stop watching.
Not Winkleman - a proper grown up please.
Not Tony Beak - personality bypass.
How about Terry Wogan?
I would suggest Graham Norton ....... but he would fail the Barrowman test.
Paul O'Grady? Not at all smutty, and quite show-biz.

Just not Anton, or Tony Beak (whatever his real name was)

Remember "Bring on the Wall"

Ian Waite - and Zoe Ball or Claudia. Give us a rest from Tess. It would refresh the format.

i just hope that, whoever they choose, it is someone who genuinely has an affection for ballroom and latin dancing. Bruce did, and was genuinely in tune with the show, so I didn't mind when he made mistakes, told naff jokes etc. I've seen some suggestions for people who would just do it as a career move rather than because they love the show.

Paul O Grady would be ok I guess, as he is a people person, but a bit hyper for my taste. i wouldn't mind Anton. Someone old school (but not too old) like Dale Winton, would work for me since I think he has a genuine warmth when dealing with people. Claudia is way too cute for my taste.

Would not mind Brian Connelly, trying to think of another but I cant at the moment.

Bill Turnbull would be ideal. Gentle with a good personality. Can imagine him holding the show together and bantering with the panel.

Tess and Claude did a better presenting job than Bruce last year.

Although that's not saying much

Agreed about the camp central comment, so ...........als only. Also Tess, lovely girl, but total airhead.

I suggest Jack Whitehall or Sophie Raworth.

Dermott Oleary would definitely fit the bill as he has great experience at live TV with Xfactor and dealing with Simon Cowell and the other diva's!!

Alexander Armstrong [from Pointless] would do a decent job -- already mentioned this in the other thread.

I have a horrible feeling that it's going to be Chris Evans
