Sophie to those who don't know, I just feel that she's such a bad character that's been allowed to take up screen time for so many years. Sophie's coming out just seemed a cheap way to pit homosexuality against religion and the Sian relationship was so OTT. Jenna and Sophie again just bad as if they had no ideas for Jenna and felt that Sophie could do with her annual love interest.

Now this homes less storyline as if her and Maddie are loves young dream. They barely know each other and it just seems like they've thrown Sophie into a relationship that's supposed to be deep and meaningful when if it were a man and a woman, it would've just seemed like general harassment on her part for stalking Maddie while she was supposed to be doing her job. I'm bored of them throwing her in relationships in which they're supposed to be believable after two months of lying on a sofa together. That paired with the fact that she's so boring as a character with no ambition or progression whatsoever. It feels like she's only gone on so long as they're grooming her to be the next Michelle Keegan in the tabloids.

Unfortunately Sophie is starting to bore me now too. I thought she was great during her early teen years and now its as though she has never matured, having a tantrum and screaming at Sally "I hate you Mum!" and then flouncing upstairs again.

Also where has her ambition gone?...didn't she used to be the clever one at school?
Now she just seems to drift and is turning into an unlikable character.....I am disappointed.

She's a very unlikeable character. All this bilge about her and the shabby, grubby, thieving Maddeeee .... as if!

Hang on though, maybe they'll run away together and that will be the end of Sawfie and our prayers will be answered.

Seems to be a strange thing with the Webster children. Wasn't Rosie quite smart and more likable in her younger years, yet turned into a thicko. Now we have Sophie, quite decent when a young girl and in her early teens, now turned into a stroppy brat.

How long shall it be before Maddie moves back in with Sally regardless of what she has done, its obvious the character isn't going anywhere soon.

The way she behaved last night like a 2 year old screaming I hate you, if I was Sally I would have told her to piss off and get out. She's old enough to leave the family home, chuck her out.

Was surprised when it came out that Maddie was the burglar who lamped tim and not a big bruiser, and Sophie had been blackmailing tim over it to get her way, had I been Sally and Kevin I'd have gone mad about it, but Sally took no notice, and Kevin just seemed to smirk and find it funny.

I never used to mind her - now however, I just hope she leaves the show - boring or what. I really dislike her character lately.

I can imagine that every single post of this thread is going to be saying the same thing....me included. But it comes as no surprise to me to see how disliked the charactter of Sophie is.

And her age is a bit confusing as well. I mean, is she meant to be acting a 16 year old school leaver, or a woman in her early twenties?? I've got no idea.

I used to like her, but she has got worse since Rosie left. I do not care for the character at all now.

Thankyou, Ben_Hunt. The writers who are producing this unpleasant drivel should be sacked.
To recap: Sophie pretended to be a Christian charity worker at a shelter to troll for another sex-mate; having found one, she walked out on all the other sad, dispossessed people using the shelter. Charity workers have a Duty of Care, not to take advantage of vunerable people, and the person running the shelter should have called the police in when she realised what Sophie's motives were for volunteering. The sex-mate she snared assaulted Sophie's mother, stole her handbag, burgled their house and assaulted her mother's boyfriend; then Sophie and her sex-mate blackmailed him. Then the girl stole Sophie's father's luggage. For all this, she was rewarded with a free home at Chez Webster and unrestricted sex with Sophie. I have watched Coronation St. from the beginning, and this is the most nauseating storyline yet. No wonder viewing figures are dropping.

When you think what Rawsie and Sawfie have had to put up with its hardly surprising.

Kevin had an affair with Natalie, then fathered a child with Molly. Sally had a couple of affairs, but I cant remember who with. Sally had breast cancer ... there must be loads of other stuff I've forgotten too.

I actually liked her and Sian together but since then, each relationship has gotten worse.

Yeah that was a bit immature of Sophie. Isn't she supposed to be 20 by now? She acted like a 12 year old! And why Sally allowed Maddie to stay in the first place is beyond me. Sally lets Sophie walk all over her.

ironically I think the Sian years have been her most grown up relationship.

I know the words 'unbelievable' are bandied about a lot but in this case it IS literally unbelievable! I'd have hit the roof!

I was also gobsmacked when Sally then told Kevin to leave as she needed to talk to the girls! Eh? If anyone should have 'done one' it's Tim who is nothing but Sally's boyfriend - Kevin is actually her DAD yet he was told to leave?

Bewildering.

Great post. When you list it out like this it shows how even more preposterous the storyline is!

I absolutely loathe Maddie. I don't give a monkey's what she's supposed to have been through because she has no redeeming features that I can see.

Sally had a couple of affairs, but I cant remember who with. .

There was some dullard who she ran a tool hire shop with, some very handsome mechanic who pissed Kevin off, Les Battersby's good looking but dodgy son who blackmailed Mike Baldwin (think Sally ended whacking him over the head with chair or something - Les's son that is not Mike Baldwin)

She also had some thing with her boss didn't she when she was working at a showroom and she made a pass at John Stape not knowing he was destined to be a murderer who slept with her daughter

wow, who next? Eccles the dog? Percy Sugden's ghost?

She is very childish but she must be 20 or so by now. I thought it sounded babyish when she said her mom had copied her by going for breakfast at Roy's.

I stopped watching Hollyoaks years ago (and only watched it for about two years before I gave upon it) but I do remember there was a character called Sol who fell in love with a homeless prostitute and got her to live with his reluctant family and untold problems were caused and every time something happened (like her pimp brother trying to set the place on fire) he would just go ' but I love her'

Don't get me wrong, I know help must be provided to people on the streets, but these storylines of falling in love with someone (homeless or not) moving them in against your family's will and putting up with all sort of shite are just ludicrous storylines

Don't forget Jeff Hughes, Rosie's creepy agent.

She's very selfish, everything has to be what she wants and if she doesn't get her way, that means those people are horrible. What's worse is she tries to make out she's looking out for other people when in actual fact it's her needs.
She doesn't give a damn that Maddeh assaulted Tim, stole her mum's watch and shoved a trifle in her face, as long as she's got someone to keep her warm at night that's all that matters.
