HO Lindsey/Lynsey Doctor/Nurse
To most HO addicts most know that Lindsey is a doctor and poor departed Lynsey was a nurse
I can't get over just how many people in various threads seem to think that the current Lindsey is a nurse and I can only assume this is because the previous Lynsey was a nurse. Any other theories as to why this is a common mistake? |

Because she's a woman, obviously.
We all make gender assumptions about occupations all the time. Doctors and nurses are classic examples of this. There's an example of this on the news this week. The nurse who is accused of murdering his patients, the news keeps specifying 'male nurse'. The wouldn't be saying 'female nurse' if it was a woman. |

Probably also (mainly?) because she wears scrubs, just like Lynsey did. If she wore a white coat, everyone would realize she was a doctor.

The sexist assumption that women are always nurses unfortunately still exists.

Not sure it matters, whatever role she has it's clearly a fictitious one.
Busiest nurse, doctor, surgeon, physician, chemist, GP in the world that one. Running a whole hospital singlehandedly.

I think this is it. Stereotypically, people associate scrubs with nurses, so she looks like one. Stick her in a smart outfit with a white coat and everyone would be saying differently.
I don't think gender has bugger all to do with it, Thought she was a nurse because of that! |

I'm another one that thought she was a nurse because she wears scrubs all the time, not because she's a woman xD

Come to think of it Browning never did look like he was doing much work or when he did it was office work. At least Lindsey looks like she's doing something in terms of patient contact. Then again we don't see her doing any admin/paperwork.

If you watch scrubs, they are doctor's in training, like Lindsey and wear scrubs. She can;'t have her white coat til she's official!
