The BBC have today announced:

Series 10 of #WaterlooRoad will be the final series. We're incredibly proud of the show but believe it has reached the end of its lifecycle. We still have a further 20 episodes to look forward to before #WaterlooRoad finishes in 2015, and we'll be sending the show out on a high.

About time really they were flogging a dead horse for far too long. It had become farcical CBBC nonsense. A shame as it was once a very enjoyable show, I think the last straw for me was the over reliance on Amanda Burton's character and her family just for them to leave after one series. Then the Scotland move just took it to new levels of ridiculous.

Used to love this show so much, in fact my username is a combination of 2 of the characters. I used to tell everybody in my school year group to watch it, especially when series 4 was starting up, and managed to get many of them hooked, but I always watched it from the start. I especially remember series 2 ending with Izzie being stabbed, and me and 2 of my friends being gutted about the wait to see if she died or not. I also remember being devastated when Jack left. Another fond memory was the tree episode in series 3 when Mika protested and Tom ended up getting hurt, and how me and a few others copied her a bit because there were a group of boys in school who kept trying to break a tree in school. I really did love the show, it was one of my favourites, when I decided I wanted to be a teacher, everyone said I'd be a great one just like Tom Clarkson, many people compare my caring nature to his, and its something I quite enjoy. I loved the show so much I bought all the DVDs, something I don't normally do for tv shows except Doctor Who. However, the move up to Scotland really started to change the show for me, the format was different, but what really killed it for me was killing off Tom Clarkson, there was no point in it, we all had a hunch that Grantly was going to die, but when it was announced Jason Done was leaving, I thought, oh they'll have him go back to Manchester or something so that if Jason ever wants to come back he can, but nope, they killed Tom, a pointless death, and then they killed Grantly off a few episodes later, ever since I was unable to watch it. It just felt so different. If the news of it being cancelled prior to the Scotland news, I'd be pretty annoyed and upset, but now, I'm not really bothered, the show ended for me when Tom and Grantly died.

This is a blessing in disguise! I'm not surprised at all. It was only a matter of time before it would start to decline. I've said numerous times that ever since the move in Scotland, the show lost the quality it had and it just wasn't the same anymore. It became quite silly and too cliche. While there have some occasionally good episodes now and then, it was very inconsistent with bringing decent storylines. I quickly got sick of it after the first series and then I lost interest after Tom was killed off, and then I completely stopped watching after Grantly died.

I might actually watch a bit of the last series, just to see how it ends. Does this mean that Laurie is on EE full time?
