I have just bought a HB-1000s. I wanted to add a different satellite to the non freesat section but can't find a way to do it. Is it possible?
Whilst awaiting to do the above I added the non freesat channels & cannot record from them. It records OK in freesat mode but not at all in non freesat, is it possible to record in non freesat mode?

No you cannot record from non-freesat mode, non-freesat mode is pretty much limited in function other than tuning in some FTA channels.
I don't bother using it myself as navigation through the channels is such a chore, which I think was designed this way on purpose by Freesat.

Freesat/Humax have really made the non-Freesat mode more useless than ever but they are fulfilling their legal obligation to provide a non-Freesat mode and it is limited it to the absolute bare minimum. So they have not provided a recording function however you can tune in to other satellites. If you go into Non-Freesat mode and go to Channel Search and press the R,G,Y,B,G,Y,B buttons in sequence to get into the 'secret' menu. You can now change the tuning settings - Dish Type, Satellite, DiSEqC Switch Type etc. Main problem is that once tuned in and loaded there is no way to alter the order of the channels - they are stored in the order scanned and you can only delete them, not sort them. So you should preferably do an individual transponder search on each satellite for the channels you specifically want. Delete any channels on the same transponder you don't want otherwise you could land up with a list hundreds of channels you will probably never access and which are a pain to navigate through.

Thank you -Gonzo- & Night Watchman. In fact Humax did get back tome the same day & gave me the coloured button 'secret' menu. As you have said the navigation in non freesat is very poor, in fact a joke. I have tried to assign a Diseqc so I can go from Freesat with one Diseqc to Non Freesat /other satellite with another, but nothing works at the moment. I used to be able to assign different Diseqc to different satellites in seconds on other receivers, but I spent nearly a day on & off to no avail. I have the Humax Freeview recorder & was hoping to record onto the hard drive & watch the recordings on the Freesat recorder but you can't. This is too restricting & for me. Humax & Freeview/Sat & their allies are ruining Recording of TV, so I will probably get rid of my Humax & buy real receivers. Shame as I only recently returned to Humax.
