The thread is pretty self explanatory. Why is Sharon so nasty to Linda? She storms into Linda's pub and Linda's home and flaunts how her pub will be the best boozer in Walford making Linda feel so small. This is in the pub where she was raised and she acts like she doesn't care about it at all.

She flaunts herself into Linda's and constantly goes on about how her pub will cater to classy clientele whereas Linda's customers are happy with a stale pint and a bag of crisps. Is SHE forgetting that she used to own that pub.

She really thinks she is above everyone else. The truth is she has no family and uses Philth as a walking talking bank. Her only love is her brat of a kid. She tells Linda that she is a good mate while at the same time treating her like s##t.

What a nasty bit of stuff she is?

The Sharon of the 90s would never have acted like this. It's a retcon.

It is nothing worse than the bitchy jabs Linda makes behind Sharon's back. I would go as far as saying Linda is worse than Sharon in that regard, as at least in the case of Sharon like Janine, has the common courtesy to be a bitch to people's faces. Linda is nothing more than a bigot, hypocrite, and a cowardly bully.

I think the way they're doing it is that Sharon doesn't realise what she's saying. I don't think she's being a bitch to Linda but you have to remember she loathed the Vic after what it's done to her family. Can't exactly blame her, I think it's more realistic than knowing your dad was murdered and concealed in then same place you drink and acting like that's okay like half the soaps do.

She seems to be forgetting that it isn't actually her pub. Least the Carters own the pub instead of relying on hand outs from the Mighty Philth Mitchell.

The old Sharon was much more intelligent, savvy and self-aware than the idiot we have onscreen now who is constantly rude and unpleasant to Linda without even realising it. Her comments the other night about the Vic being downmarket were most bizarre considering it was once hers and how she adored the place as did her parents. They've turned her into the female equivalent of Ian Beale - a socially inept, egotistical, snob who constantly puts her foot in it and offends people without even realising.

They just aren't friends, the sooner they both realise the better. Shame though as the first few eps they did work well together when they were actually friendly but meh, silliness has ruined it already.

In the days of the dagmar/vic we had people who were friends/lovers etc in both establishments. Linda is the one who bitches behind her back ALL the time and does things to make her business fail. Sharon still wanted to be friends and hang out when she was opening the Albert. She even suggested ways to boost BOTH businesses. Recall this woman has decades of experience of running successful alcohol places. Soon as Sharon had gone yet again she was bitching behind her back. Whenever she mentions Sharon out of her presences its too bitch. I gather Johnny rightly gets fired but the police aren't called which they could be. I am sure it will be bad Sharon when Linda bitches again.

Yeah agreed and I made this point about Ian a while back. Some have said that people were criticising Ian because he is ambitious but that's not it at all, you can have a desire to achieve without looking down on other people and being entirely insensitive towards them. I didn't like Sharon in that scene at all and it seemed like she was boasting, she came across as very unpleasant then.

Sharon is awful

It's Letitia Dean's panto acting that gets me. I like watching the Carters in the Vic. Even though Linda is a bigot I find her highly watchable. The actress who plays Linda is brilliant.
