I've not been too happy with my 1010S since I had it. The occasional reboot, the program guide that's a few steps backwards from the Foxsat -HDR.

But last night looked bad. It booted up in magenta with no sound, and all the menus are 2/3rds size in the TLH corner. There is a picture, but heavily overlaid with magenta.

I've tried rebooting, leaving it completely off for a while, factory reset, etc. Anything else I can try?

If I manage to get Amazon to take it back, which current ones are better to use?

Yes, fine! Well, well, who'd have thought it? Well, apart from you, obviously, Graham.

Rats, does this mean I won't be able to send it back?

Not at all, first thing to try is a new hdmi cable and/or a different hdmi port on the TV. If you have a different TV with HDMI in try that as well.

Basically you need to check the fault is internal in the box and not down to an external fault (commonly duff hdmi cables or a problem with your TV)

Yes, a recent problem I had with my old Foxsat box turned out to be caused by a faulty HDMI cable.

Always best to check those cheap and easy to swap parts first when fault finding.

I don't have a spare HDMI cable but I pulled the old one out and shoved it back in again and everything looks OK. Looks like I'm stuck with it for a while longer!

Thanks for your help, Graham.
