This greatest hits is perfect for someone like me (and probably quite a few people), I like most of their singles but wouldn't call myself a 'fan' and have never been interested in buying any studio albums of theirs but would buy the greatest hits. My favourite singles of theirs are the ones that everyone else seems to hate though- Missing you, Notorious & Gentleman.

Might be a good seller for them esp if they have a killer lead single.

On the show they denied they are splitting up but no one seems to believe them.

Often there is no formal announcement as such, bands are just never heard from again after their last tour. The Spice Girls never formally split either did they, they just cut their tour short and didn't come back.

I will buy the greatest hits for that reason. Their singles are catchy. And I too like the three tracks you mentioned, especially Gentleman.

They are very much a singles group, which I think Girls Aloud were until their greatest hits sold 1.2 million, compared to the almost 400,000 their previous sold. It could do the same for The Saturdays, maybe.

I really like the girls but think they are an exception in that I think they have more to offer on their own than the group can now. If they split, I expect:

Una - solo deal and a more acoustic sound. More album artist than single artist. Won't set the charts alight but will sell consistently.
Vanessa - solo deal, more R'n'B sound, a few big singles. Average selling albums.
Mollie - modelling and fashion.
Frankie - As Vanessa but dance/pop music.
Rochelle - TV presenting and, for some reason, I think she may go into acting. Feature on a couple of other artists' singles.

Don't you need to have some hits in order to release a Greatest Hits album?

They've had 13 UK Top 10 hits so there you go.

Una had her own kids TV show on RTE over christmas with cameos from the rest of the group.

Of course they're not going to admit they are splitting up. Countless pop groups before them have sworn they are just "taking a break". But the fact they are parting ways with their PR company, calling the album Greatest Hits (when it has all their singles) and have released the magic number of 5 studio albums seems to me this is a contractual obligation. I'm sure this will sell better than Living for the Weekend (how could it not), but it's crazy to think they will achieve anything close to The Sound of Girls Aloud numbers.

Its hard to keep count of the countless mistake their management team made over the years and they didn't have a Victoria Beckham amongst them to take control of themselves and the business side of things

I don't think it can go near The Sound Of Girls Aloud but I think it could become their best selling album with ease.

I think they'll announce they are splitting or "taking a break" in the next few weeks. They failed to crack America, have been doing a lot more solo ventures for a while now, the most recent album took them 2 years to complete and then didn't sell very well and they've downsized their tour from the last tour which was arenas to mostly theatres. If it takes them 2 years to make another album they won't be releasing anything until 2016 and I think that would be destined to flop.

I can see them announcing a new summer single as one of the brand new tracks, releasing the album, touring and then going on a break to pursue solo ventures and then they will probably shortly reunite like Girls Aloud and split later.

Their management have made so many mistakes. IMO they ruined the group. They have so much potential and the management kept releasing the wrong singles. 30 Days shouldn't have been a single.

I'm looking forward to this, I hope it sells well for them and I hope they have a great lead single. I managed to get my tickets this morning for Cardiff. I'm a bit sad that One Shot never saw the Greatest Hits as to me that is their best track.

I'm sure I read the GH was meant to be the end for Girls Aloud, as before that point, their last few singles had done quite poorly. The GH and single for it did far better than I think anyone expected, showed the public were still interested in them, so they decided to carry on going.

Well maybe the same thing will happen with The Saturdays. A lot of casual buyers might buy it and it might do really well and they might carry on for another album or two.

victoria wasn't the bossy manager type who sorted out the spice girls, got deals done and kept the ship running, surely that was geri halliwell all over?

She had the business mind and even Geri Halliwell said that it was Victoria who helped them make a successful brand

I will probably buy the GH album too - I like most of their singles and have 'cherry-picked' a few of their album tracks, but I don't really consider myself a fan of theirs.

I think after the GH tour would be the right time for them to split up or at least go on hiatus - they've been 'limping along' for some time!

I was just watching them on Sunday Brunch and the 2 presenters seem to be fans of theirs.

I still think that Chasing Lights is their best album. Wordshaker is also good, in my opinion. On Your Radar was very weak, I thought and I quite like Living For The Weekend (You Don't Have The Right and Lease My Love are my least favourites though. I can't understand why they fought so much for the latter....I think that it was purely down to the big-name producer rather than the quality of the song.)

I like them but I do agree with this. Now is the perfect time for a GH album.

Yes, think it is as well and it's probably good for everyone!...I quite like them and they did have some great songs but they've been pretty much a cringy parody of their promising selves over the past couple of years...A GH is a perfect way to remind people they weren't just a bad GA tribute act and, if it sells well, to bow with a bit of bang!?

If I'm honest I think that The Saturdays were put together in case Girls Aloud did split after their Greatest Hits tour back in 2007. So that they were able to fill the void and probably so that the record label could keep making money.

I think that this might be the end for The Saturdays, although it might not be but if they want to continue I think they will need a great killer song/album that will make them shine and stand out and not make some or a lot of people think that they are a Girls Aloud rip off band (But let's be honest every girl band or female artists is going to be compared with another). They have had good singles yes some have been better than others but they just need that something that makes them stand out.

Also I think that they might want to try and break the GA record for being the longest girl band together. And speaking of sales I think this may do well but I can't see it setting the charts alight and hitting number 1 maybe top 10 close to top 5.
