Hi New to forum, and recently had Infinity 1 & TV package fitted last week.
Is it just me that finds the channel management rubbish?
I came from Sky (to reduce my costs) and their management was/is very good.
any updates in the offing?

No it is not just you. People have been complaining about it since the trial boxes were first issued. We eventually got rudimentary hiding but I do no expect any further enhancements in this area.

The UI lookes very polished but functionally is very limited and restrictive.

Unfortunately channel management is limited to hiding channels, that's it.

No favourites, no grouping of channels under genre, no ability to reorder channels etc.

It's possible YouView thought such options would complicate their desire to produce a standard that was as easy to use for the average/novice as possible, but it leaves those of us who like such features wanting.

That is a crying shame as it is good in other respects.
Perhaps there's a possibility of upgrading in the near future?

The main problem is that the YouView UI and functionality is controlled by YouView themselves, not the manufacturers (Humax and Huawei).

It is possible further functionality will arrive at some stage, but you're at the mercy of YouView as to what and when I am afraid.

BT youview has few issues like channels epg for freeview is a mess and on the IPTV side between BT & Talk Talk that use different EPG numbers for same channels and the youview software being made by others. but the cost is better then sky and you do have the main channels mix needed for most people with films, sports, music, kids, HD & news etc. and they is room to grow well in the coming year.

I'm afraid I'm seriously thinking of cancelling the BT TV package, even though I'll have to pay a cancellation charge.
I'm really fed up with this channel management.
