How on earth will this play out? Firstly, it's disgusting because Max is her best friend's dad but he is friends with her dad and old enough to be her dad. Max also knew Lucy from when she was 12. Think of the fallout that this would create? Maybe Stacey killed Lucy out of jealous. I just think it's going to be great.
(Shows the creativity of DTC unlike the blandness of Newman especially re. the Brannings).

Jealousy? Nah, Stacey will probably be off screen for a while (with Lacey busy filming other stuff) and she probably wouldn't care considering that Max gave her the opportunity to get back with him and she turned him down saying she doesn't love him.

Since when was Max friends with Ian?

I also find it funny that he tried it on with Lucys Step Mother (Jane) a few hours before they presumably got together.

They've had their issues but generally they do get on. Max was Ian's chosen best man for his wedding to Mandy, and Max was one of the people who saved Ian when he was homeless.

Yet Ian then had Max in prison for four months.

I wonder if it could possibly be Abi that kills Lucy.

So disappointed it was Max. I know it was obvious but was really hoping for them to have actually pulled off a decent twist.

At least we wont have to endure them having this affair for long as she'll be brown bread soon

Me too. In the past it was always Lauren who had forewarning that their family was heading for another breakdown while Abi was blindsided so we don't know how she would react under this type of pressure. Also, Abi saw how Lauren's drinking almost killed her. She may fear that finding out her best friend was sleeping with her father could trigger a fatal relapse.

I don't think she would mean to kill Lucy but fear, anger or panic could cause her to act impulsively if Lucy refuses to end the affair and threatens to split up her family. If Jay has an affair with Lola and Abi finds out this could be a further reason for her to lash out at Lucy as Max and Lauren will be all she has left after losing her boyfriend and best friend and Lucy has a passing resemblance to Lola.

Soaps have a tradition of running similar storylines to each other. In Emmerdale Belle, a bright teenage girl, lashed out in anger and accidentally killed her friend. It weighed on her conscience and she confessed to her family and the police. Out of all the characters in Eastenders Abi is the most like Belle. They are both intelligent teenage girls with promising futures and their families hold high expectations for them. Abi, out of all the girls and women in Walford, is also the most likely to insist on confessing to the police.

You could be right. I think Abi will be written out and this will be the way to do it.
