The funeral parlour is where the Charity Shop used to be.
Pam also must be one of the new lot from the Spring Lane market merge. I'm guessing she must have ran the flower stall there. Donna is coming in from Spring Lane as well. This is a very positive move. They needed a stable older married couple and have done since John Bardon sadly had to leave. I'm guessing they will move in next door to the Beales. That's the only free house on the Square and the indication of sons means more family exist. |

I actually really like the sound of a dodgy undertaker family. Could work very well.

This is all good.
So we now have- Dot, Patrick, Cora, Stan, Aunt Babe, Les & Pam. I am sure one of their Sons will arrive too. |

It would be nice if all the Spring Lane market lot know each other. How did you know about this, btw? |

So thats why Les has a photocard!
I'm all for this, however, putting the Funeral Directors in the small charity shop? Where will the bodies, coffins, and stuff be stored, not to mention the herses! Or is it just a shop "front" & the "factory" bit is elsewhere? I'm not sure how these places operate! It's a tight corner in that end of Turpin Rd, cluttered with stalls and not to mention a dead end - can't see many hearses passing through! Hurrah for older cast though! |

Here's hoping that Philth is his first customer!
![]() But I am very pleased about this, Walford needs all the older characters it can get. However TPTB seem to be at a loss how to use some of the existing ones properly. When was the last time Patrick had a major storyline, or Cora for that matter? At least Dot has been given something to do recently and there is more to come as well. And of course Stan is just a fantastic creation. |

The Grim Reaper and Wife?
![]() I agree though the older cast nee kick-started. Why do Patrick and Cora never get any decent material. All they do is occasionally argue with each other. |

I think it's great the older generation is getting more focus and we are seeing more new characters coming in.

That is good. EastEnders needs some older characters too. Could be a good move with the evil undertaker and his good wife.

I am impressed with the Variety of new characters that DTC is bringing in. It seemed that we were getting young person after young person for ages but DTC has been all over th spectrum.

I love Les. His memories of Pat had me in hysterics during those episodes.
Good additions. And nice to see a funeral directors in a soap. |

I don't know how big the charity shop is out back but my Mum's was just in a normal row of shops so it could well be big enough. |

Looking forward to this
I think having more older characters will give EE a feel-good feel, and it'll be a nice change from focusing on the young 'uns too much I just hope they get good stories now and aren't there just for the sake of it.

I'm looking forward at the possibility of Les being so stressed by work and other things that he has a meltdown "WHY CAN'T PEOPLE STOP DYING?!?!".

I think it's quite tongue-in-cheek that EE, a soap known for it's deaths and murders, now has it's own funeral parlour!
I do like Les and I think it's a good idea to bring in a new character who the viewers are semi-familiar with, it makes for a smoother transition. The way Stan, Babe, Sonia and Les have been re-introduced is so much better than the last few years. The way Sadie was introduced was awful. Tw*tting around with the bins one minute as a glorified extra, and then suddenly the audience are supposed to be gripped by the secret that her and Jake killed a child. It's hard to realte to a character who is a perfect stranger to the show, so I am all for characters like Les being slowly filtered in! |
