I enjoyed it. Well-paced without feeling too rushed, and some interesting conversations that gave us insight into some of the characters without being too exposition-led (I'm thinking of Sharon and Johnny in the cafe, Max and Lucy in the kitchen, and Bianca and Terry outside The Albert.) It helped that he had a big event to write for - the opening of The Albert and the fire in the Vic/Lee's return, but it built up nicely to these events. Definitely a decent first attempt.

Good on him
It was a great episode. It felt like more than just half an hour. Felt like an episode which had been on for an hour. I was gutted when it ended. |

It was a good episode. Leo Richardson wrote Stanley Park for a BBC3 pilot competition a few years back & it was quite enjoyable. It's a shame it didn't get a full series (I don't think any of the pilots in the competition got a full series actually).

It was a very good first episode. Shows huge potential. This was easily my favourite 'normal' episode of the year so far.
So much better than anything Daran Little has delivered EE yet imho. |

Yes, Leo Richardson is definitely one to watch out for, and this pair of episodes has proved it. I love his and Daran Little's style of writing; always character led rather than plot led.

Sharon Marshall, James Payne and Jaden Clark are much better than him. |

I don't rate Daran's EE work at all. Kat in particular feels more like a cartoon character under him.

He has a very natural and entertaining flare. I've loved all of his episodes so far. Sharon's bar opening is one of my favourites of the year so far.
