For build quality alone, the M8 by a mile.

The build quality of the Sony is on a par with the HTC with much better spec.

I had the Htc last year and loads of samsungs, I wonder if the Sony is with the risk and I saw a demo phone yesterday and it looks amazing?

Z2 or the HTC One (which a mate has got and its built incredibly well and the screen is amazing)

S5 looks like a cheap toy in comparison even though it costs more than both the Z2 and the HTC One M8

Can't go wrong with any of them. It's down to personal choice. Looks, skin, screen, camera, battery life and removable battery. There is no true winner in every category.

My upgrade is due next week and im still torn between M8 & Z2 but slightly favouring the Sony.

Totally discounted the Samsung due to the unreliabilty of my outgoing S3, cheap build, poor service recieved by Samsung in the past and the huge amount of bloatware on the S5!

Looked at my brothers Z1 yesterday and was impressed but cant deny im still tempted by the build of the HTC.

If you use the camera a lot, then yhe Sony is definately the way to go. If not, there is very little to choose between them and I guess it'll come down to personal preference! The noise cancelling headphones packed with the sony are tempting me as I use the phone as a media device a lot.

Just came out of my local Carphone Warehouse where I was picking up a case for my sons iphone.

Cant upgrade with them as im with 3, so asked the guy his opinion. He said M8 all day long, said they've had huge problems withe Z & Z1 and the new Z1 compact and that HTC phones far more reliable with a far lower return rate.

Im no expert on this but its got me thinking again?

Anyone know what reliability is like on Xperia phones????

It's the camera that stops me buying an m8. It really lets what is an otherwise great handset down. It's a deal breaker.

That's is what's putting me off as the camera on the htc one was rubbish

I know megapixels don't matter, blah, blah, blah, but 4MP is too low.

I was 90% set on the Z2 but those comments this morning have got me rethinking.

Anyone got first hand experience of the Z or Z1 and if so, is reliability something I should be concerned about as most other electrical goods ive had from Sony in the past have been top quality (including several ericcson phones pre smartphone days)?

Is anyone else interested in the lg g3, with a rumoured release date of may?

I will probably wait till then before I decide, but my gut is saying the g3 with its quad hd screen

These phones are all so good it will come down to the small things you prefer, sound from speakers, screen, sd card, camera, removable battery, waterproofing etc.

Really is so close between these phones, wait for them to be fully released and check the reviews.

Out of these three I would be tempted to ignore them and save a packet with the G2 as nine of them are a significant upgrade over that. It will not be until the Snapdragon 805 becomes available in the back end of that you will see a real bump. It is funny how people are dismissing the S5 without even seeing it.

I've used the Z1 and it was a great phone. The only things I didn't like were the poor viewing angles and the poor speaker quality. Both have been completely fixed with the Z2.

I would say the Z2 is better than the M8, simply because the camera is much better.

Get it, you won't be disappointed .

Cheers, think thats the way im going and done a bit of internet browsing and havent found any common recuring themes about xperia reliability other than a bit about overheating.

The slightly bigger screen and better camera are swaying me coupled with the fact that imho black bezels are the best for watching movies, sky Go etc whicb I do a lot when the other half wins the battle over the TV

Yeah the G2 came out in September, but lg think this time of year is the phone selling sales period, and want to compete with the s5.

Moving on, rumours suggest that the LG G3 will be powered by LG's own octa-core processor called 'Odin'. This consists of four 2.2GHz Cortex-A15 cores and another four 1.7GHz Cortex-A7 cores. It uses ARM's big.LITTLE configuration meaning tasks will be performed by the appropriate cores, therefore saving power.

Not sure how odin will compare to snapdragon but I will be waiting till may/june before I decide which phone to go for. I am still using my Toshiba tg01, which has gone from a smart phone to a dumb phone. All it is good for these days is messaging and phone calls Has really put me of windows phones, It was w6.5 and as soon as w7 came out updates and the marketplace was pulled.
