WDTV Experiences?

I'm thinking of getting a WDTV box as a one stop shop for accessing Netfllix, Youtube. BBC iplayer, Spotify and my music, videos & photos files stored on a media server. On the face of it seems perfect for my needs with the formats supported.

Does anyone else use this device and what are it's pros & cons or alternatives?

I can#t comment on the streaming aspect as I have an old WDTV live box which doesn't really do any of that except YouTube and a few radio channels but for local playback it will play pretty much everything you can think of.

I never had it reject a video format type at all

I have a Roku, Chromecast and a current generation WDTV Live. If you're not worried about future apps then I think it's one of the best. It covers Youtube (in HD), Netflix (in full HD), iplayer (in HD) and can throw just about every downloaded internet video you can imagine.

Roku is better on apps (e.g. if you want 4od and Demand 5 or Sky Store), I suspect Chromecast may be better over time but its awful right now.

The apps are enough for most people but streaming has never been a problem. I have a wdtv live and apart from being a bit slow at connecting to my network I really can't fault it
