Anyone still watching? (US pace)
Just wondering if anyone was still keeping up with American Idol now five have stopped showing it. I've finally caught up, but not as into it as previous seasons. Wondered what everyone else thought of it?

I'm still watching it. Usually watch the live show and the results back to back over the weekend but not managed to catch up on last weeks yet. Still fuming with C5 for dropping it mid series. My favourite is Caleb.

Yeah I like Caleb and Alex, but I really don't think the standard is as high this year as it has been in the past.

I am watching and I was shocked at my personal favourite going home last week. I won't say who in case flower66 has not seen it yet.
I am also furious with C5. Obviously this is the reason why there is nobody here! Waiting 2 days to talk about this weeks show on DS - that's fine. Waiting until the Summer to talk about it? That's not Fine.

Yes, still managing to watch online.
Really disappointed with the results this week. They're an unusual batch this year - they seem really young/unpolished compared to previous years. I keep meaning to watch the 'Hollywood week' episodes again. to see what they were like then. I do like the judges, especially Keith and Harry. Thought David Cook was a brilliant mentor this week - he gave really good advice. |

That said, I think the Southern-ness (winners for ten of the first 12 seasons) of Caleb and Jessica will pull them through to the final two. Of course, they're not your cookie cutter (i.e. not offensive looking) Southerner (Caleb has fun-but-unruly hair-- and personality-- while Jessica his pink hair)... |

I've been a bit lazy with keeping up - mainly due to a combination of not being able to watch it in uk tv and the fact that this year's bunch is a bit underwhelming. I normally look at mjsbigblog and pick and choose the videos I want to watch from there.
I'm not crazy about anyone this year but I still love Jessica's voice. It's a shame that she seems almost embarrassed to be there these days. |

Which site are you using (if you're allowed to say?). I've still not been able to find a link that worked so am just keeping up to date with the Reality Check that Michael Slezack does on TVline (which is great).
I usually download a torrent file, but it can be complicated if you haven't used that method before. Diceroll_81's method in the post below yours sounds a good option - will have to check it out. |

Trying to keep up on youtube but it's really annoying because the episode numbers are out of sync (mainly for the results show) so I didn't realise that
Spoiler
which was all very confusing - not knowing which results show went after which main show. Anyway, I will persevere although it is a very awkward way to try to keep up. Think my fave is Jena, but the choice is limited if you find it hard to enjoy the genre of the remaining contestants. |

I think Jena is really stepping up, and Caleb is maybe becoming a bit predictable because apart from maybe 1 performance his have all been very similar.
I really like Alex as well, but that may be because I prefer his style of music to Calebs. I've found Jessica quite disappointing, I don't know what it is, but something is missing from her performances. Sam has definitely improved since they used the save on him. but I was surprised they used it on him since they hadn't been giving him the best comments. I think had they kept it another week Malaya would have been saved. Glad CJ is now gone, I thought he was the poorest and was lucky to survive as long, a shame Dexter went before him as I thought Dexter was the better male country singer. |

I also like Jena, Caleb and Alex. Am also glad CJ has gone. Just didn't really get him at all.
When Jessica sings she seems dead behind the eyes to me., I like her voice but her face is expressionless. Am loving the judges though especially Harry who has been a revelation. |

I've kind of lost track of the weekly episodes I'm sad to say, although I do check every week on Idol's website to see who went out.
Glad to see my favourite, Caleb, is still in with a chance

Am loving the judges... a LOT.
Am loving Ryan... as usual. Am loving the contestants... almost. In fact am loving the entire show, but Am HATING channel 5 for dumping it!!! Finding it unbelievably frustrating trying to watch online cos there aren't full shows available for all episodes - and while seeing the performances is nice, it's kinda spoilt by not being able to see the judges' comments! Frustrated, angry and sad. Oh and either Caleb or Alex to win! |

i found the twist last week silly, why do they seem so desperate to save Sam. If they have been planning this twist it would have been hinted at on the performance show, they obviously added it once the votes have been counted. Glad the contestants scuppered their plans when 2 voted no to them all staying another week.
I also thought the criticism of Jessica this week wasn't very fair, I've always thought there was something missing from her performance, normally emotion, but I thought both her performances this week were by far her best, especially Human. |

Just watched the last 4 show.
Thought Gena's last song was simply incredible. One of the best Idol performances ever. And Caleb was not far behind (again - last song). |

Just caught up with the semi-final. I've been downloading the episodes each week and have really enjoyed this season.
So pleased Caleb and Jena are in the final, it's going to be very close to call this year, as it really could go either way. I was dreading the thought of Alex winning as that would have been yet another WGWG (White Guy With Guitar) which there has been too many of in recent years. I would be happy for either to win but out of the two I would like Caleb to win, as it's time we had a rocker win! |

I'm happy for Caleb, didn't rate Jena as anything special really. Bit bummed that my fave Alex didn't make the final two.

Happy for Caleb, he does have a super voice, but Jena showed there was more too her and I thought after performances like I Can't Help Falling in Love With You and Creep she might take the title.

BTW for anyone who wants to watch the live shows on TV, 5* has finally scheduled all the lives airing on consecutive weekday afternoons at 1pm and 4pm, starting 9th June. They're clearly determined to burn off all the remaining episodes as quickly as possible, and get rid of the show. God knows if anyone has the fortitude (or time!) to watch all the episodes like this. I guess you can load up your DVR and watch them in batches! But the show is being treated as shoddily as I thought it would be. I suppose we should just be grateful they're showing it at all!
