chromecast and VPN
This weekend I accessed CBS.com in US via my VPN using chrome browser and it "casted" perfectly. No smart dns configuration etc.

^ This shouldn't come as any surprise.
If your computer has a VPN to the US, then of course, US services will generally work through it. You can mirror most video content from a Chrome browser to your Chromecast, and this is no secret. But, video quality is no-where near as good as proper Chromecast support (which CBS doesn't offer). Mirroring is a good method to get nearly any video across to the TV via Chromecast, but for most of us where we can see the loss of quality, it is only useful as a last-ditch effort. |
