I'm trying to copy a complete VHS tape to DVD, following the instructions on page 57 of the manual. I've done this successfully before, but this time I'm obviously missing something, because what I expect to happen doesn't.

I like the idea of the machine fast-forwarding the tape when I press OK, to determine the recording mode for itself, but that doesn't happen - it just starts copying straight away. Last time (quite a few weeks ago, so I can't remember how I managed it) the machine did indeed do the fast-forwarding thing and worked most satisfactorily. Can somebody remind me of the step that I'm missing? I shall then write it down in the manual so I don't need to take up your time again! Thanks, Gareth

Sorry, everybody - I've sorted this. I hadn't noticed 'FR' as a choice in a dropdown menu, I think because it was tagged as 'normal speed'. I'm now able to do exactly what I set out to do. Thanks for your patience.
